Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

At the end of the day, it's all down to personal taste and what moves you. On a whole, TR felt disappointing to me. We got that many pages ago. Your feelings are clear. This thread isn't your forum to repeatedly insult and condescend to anyone who liked a scene (or series) you didn't. Tone it down ...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Honestly I think it is a matter of you guys not seeing the forest for the trees. On my original watch I outright hated the second half of ep.17. Definitely the green glove scene felt flat and unearned. But by about ten minutes into ep.18 I realised what the writers were up to, and it all fell into p...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

It's easy to over-intellectualize things. I read one comment earlier in the thread where the poster suggested that one must do as Dr. Amp says, dig yourself out of the shit, to really learn to appreciate the greatness of the Return :) It becomes a little far fetched. . I think you missed the point ...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Started rewatching FWWM yesterday. The part where Laura goes home in the middle of the day, hesitating to go into her bedroom because of Bob possibly being there, and the jolt of fear that literally goes through the body when you start noticing he's in the room. Almost as if you were there in the r...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

I am seeing some comments saying it was "meant to be uninmpressive"... Come on :) That's just blind Lynch worship, finding ways to justify *anything*. So first the artists did bad work - and afterwards they lied to us about what their intentions were? Should we also just ignore that every...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Well, he claims to be Cooper, but why does he act so strangely? I remain very confused about the events depicted. Is it possible that Cooper went home to Vegas and this isn't him? You've got all the right puzzle pieces in play, but I put them together differently. I think that when you make a Tulpa...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Is it too simple to say Cooper is to Richard as Betty is to Diane Selwyn? Definitely. The episode exploits our collective memory of the "Mulholland Dr." twist to insinuate that this might be reoccuring here. Is Cooper really Cooper? As the episode progresses even he starts to not believe ...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

With some time having passed, what are your thoughts on this scene? Personally, the first time I saw it I couldn't believe that the monumental killing of Bob played out on an almost parodic B horror movie level. It was sad. Watching it again it's perhaps a bit stronger but so empty on atmosphere th...

Re: Theories & Speculation

So is it a good thing that Cooper is striving to become someone who isn't just shuffling towards his grave, then? Well, that question entails that you or I agree with Jack Parsons notion of "ordinary" life having no meaning or merit, but clearly The Return has a different view on that, wh...

Re: Theories & Speculation

I don't think Lynch/Engels came up with all that mythology for FWWM. Rather I think Lynch/Frost had a way more detailed mythology planned out from the original show than we knew about. F.ex. TSHoTP ties the mythology back to "The Lemurians", the show Lynch/Frost had been shopping around pr...

WOW BOB WOW! http://www.twinpeaks.tv/2017/09/hidden-meaning-of-powerline-324810-6.html?m=1 I think I have figured out exactly where those coordinates lead. "Jornado del Muerto" very close to the Trinity explosion site. "Jornado del Muerto/Dead Man's Journey" also being the origi...

Well, that visit we know for sure had to do with the Duwayne Dunham directed/Lynch produced "The Good Worker".

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Apparently Lynch has been talking about adapting that since 2000. I could see that being a great film, I would prefer Lynch spending his time developing more "Twin Peaks", but apart from that I can see the potential. https://www.reddit.com/r/davidlynch/comments/6i85sa/what_happened_to_the_...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I am just rewatching TR in its entirety and it didn't strike me on the first viewing, but I now just noticed a striking similarity between Jack Rabbit's Palace and the large rock in the big sea that Cooper falls down onto. Anyone else thought of that? :) Yes, I definitely think Jack Rabbits Palace ...

Re: FWWM sequels

It would've been really interesting to see what Lynch and Frost would've produced back then, if they had the right support and funding. Going back to the point in time where The Return didn't exist, there was a lot on the table narrative-wise and much that still was never brought up again (both in ...
