Re: The biggest problem with The Return - the fear/mystery element largely missing?

For me, an area where I feel the fear/mystery was lacking was with regard to the Doppelganger. BOB/Leland in the original series was a perpetrator of cosmic evils (incest, murder, rape). Evil Coop in the Return looked like a drug runner from Scarface - particularly in the Buenos Aires photo Albert b...

If MJA had participated, it might have deprived us of The Evolution of the Arm and I'm not sure I'd make that trade now.

Re: How can we get a season 4? Cancel Showtime.

Going by those quotes from the Showtime exec in the articles floating around, I get the impression that it's largely up to Lynch and Frost whether or not anything further happens with Twin Peaks. In any case, do what y'all want, but I'm going to keep Showtime for awhile. So I can watch "The Re...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

CBS said that the better-than-expected performance was driven by strong revenue growth in affiliate and subscription fees. In the second quarter, the company saw $848 million in fee revenue. That figure represents a 38 percent year-over-year growth for the business. CEO Les Moonves said the return ...

Re: When will "Dougie" snap back to being Cooper? (Spoilers)

I'm not expecting to see the "real" Cooper ever again. He's going to be completely changed from his time in the Black Lodge and will likely never be the same man again. That said, I expect him to make his way back to normalcy somewhat and return to Twin Peaks. I think it's getting close. C...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

and I think some are underestimating the profound effect the atomic bomb era would have had one someone Lynch's age at the time it happened. For an artist who is so obsessed with and shows so vividly the underbelly of Americana and the bleakness behind it, the atom bomb tests really hit home how thi...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Maybe Lynch forgot that the first several episodes of S2 were separate from S1? The first two episodes of S2, which he directed, are some of the best. But when re-watching the whole show together, those first few episodes of S2 seems to fit more within S1. Or maybe he just meant the experience of f...

Re: The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer (Audiobook)

You know, even on the US side, I have had so many problems with Audible. I couldn't play the book on my Mac (iTunes would not recognize my Audible sign-in credentials), apparently because I am using an old version of iTunes, and I could not upgrade to the new one they require. I also couldn't open ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I've put a lot of stock in Laura Palmer somehow being still alive/resurrected in this season. Not sure how it's going to play out, but I can't wait to see it happen.

Re: Showtime Re-broadcast of Original Series

They should have given control of their social media to someone over the age of 35. This millenial-ization of the show's Twitter feed is awful. I had to unsubscribe. I figure any breaking news that comes from them will be disseminated elsewhere anyway.

Wonder if they are going to pitch shift Sheryl's voice so she sounds more like the younger version of herself.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

- Gordon Cole's involvement with Doug Milford calls into question his motives, if not the motives of all of the agents under his command, including TP. At the very least, there's a lot that he chose not to share with Cooper before sending him to Twin Peaks. This is a big thing for me and definitely...
