Re: Episode 18

I’m thinking a lot of that also has to do with when things were filmed, and actors performing scenes in later episodes before the Killer reveal episode even aired. Ie. Dana Ashbrook filming a Bobby scene in episode eighteen when episode fourteen might be airing in a few weeks and he (the actor) stil...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

I think that is embellishing what they’re saying. They praise him. But they’re also comparing and contrasting the difference between working with him under different guidelines. And they’re not talking behind his back, at least with Fenn she voiced her concerns right away.

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

I think it makes the most sense based on the nature of their structure and in the planning, the spine was Cooper in Vegas and the FBI investigation. Then with elements of Peaks that ideally who they wanted from the original, but if they couldn’t do it, it could be reworked. From the original, I thin...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

Agreed, and was the kind of jolt the show needed, no matter which character it was (as long as it was someone we have history with and is semi beloved). I know Lynch said to ideally view this as an eighteen hour movie that washes over you, but at the same time it is impossible to (especially when it...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

Yeah, I agree with you on all those points. And for some reason, the imperfections of the second season and now with The Return, it kinda gives it more life for me with the continued what if game. I’m trying to think of an hour drama show that remained tight as a drum (Breaking Bad managed to pull o...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

Well, I will say back in the day when the show was actually on television, it was primarily the Kyle, Sherilyn, Lara Flynn show. I mean that’s why Audrey had all those insipid JJW scenes, to give something to one of the fan favorites. And aside from Cooper, Lynch and co. did draft the season finale ...

Ha, still love her.

And trying to be as objective (as possible) but I think she’s right. Especially about the constraints.

Re: Three Days Later (between ep. 16 & 17)

Yeah, the show really was in a pickle and with terrible luck even if it was firing on all cylinders. Northern Exposure did what Peaks probably should’ve done. Kept a tight ensemble and in its genre’s case, stuck to almost weekly mini mysteries while also keeping a greater larger mystery. But again, ...

Re: Three Days Later (between ep. 16 & 17)

It’s so interesting to talk about and revisit this throughout the years, like pinpointing what went wrong or what could have saved the show. Save the show in this case, meaning keeping it on the air. It’s like a math problem. Really at this point, circa early 1991, nothing could save the show. And t...

Re: No Ray Wise?

Yes, and I agree with you for those two examples completely! Because there was an urgency underneath it that it was playing against. That is why I kinda wished the storyline was more basic and simple... so Lynch could play around with standard storylines and get underneath it. When both the story an...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

To me it was scary because it was so earned. Peaks may have been in the graveyard Saturday night lot, but the ones still sticking with it had the fun of the tension mounting in the three episodes of the One Eyed Jacks raid through the reveal of the murderer. It was very exciting, And one of the most...

Ha, I just remembered I forgot how much Lynch put Lynch into scenes. It was like a Barbra Streisand project. Meow. Let me have one catty post from time to time,

Totally get that, and I agree. I think I was just surprised in terms of them not taking their initial ingredients and manipulating it into breaking a new structure.

Re: No Ray Wise?

Woah, new posts since I was writing.... Mordeen, harassed?! Yikes. This board and the fandom got a little out of control, especially with the growing intense tension of how long the project took to complete from announcement to airing. And I guess that would be true of any fandom coupled with its re...
