Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I totally agree with that in terms of plots - but again, i felt it was only a glimmer of a real exploration. What was a fascinating concept came off (to me) one of many dead end skim the surface of an idea scenario. -And Richard Horne was one of the only characters I felt was successful in this new ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Not really a “but” more of an “and” to my point ... quibble. But Harry Dean can sell anything.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I get that, and it’s wonderful for it to be a success and a joy for you. And remember though I am someone who hated the second half of the second season, and aside from the soundtrack is left cold from FWWM. What I loved about Peaks was how tight it was, like a drum, in that first season... yet stil...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Ugh , I know some of you love it.... but this season could’ve been so, so good. Good directorial moments because well, Lynch... but as a whole I think it’s a tragic, bloated mess. I’ve tried rewatching, and it’s harder for me than 1991 when I actually cried at the back end of season two of how far i...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Yeah, I kinda thought that was what was happening when he woke up in that hotel room with the Dear John letter... that Lynch and Frost were going to be ambiguous that this was just possibly a Nine to fiver in a mundane marriage possibly having a fever dream or fantasy. Of course leaving it vague and...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I actually thought if it was going to go in this direction, it should have been both Audrey and Diane. Like after he left the Lodge and is in the clearing, it’s Audrey... they go on the car ride. She sees Diane outside the motel. The sex scene changes faces or alternates... then we’d be saying this ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

That’s bizarre that it would be hard to see how Audrey would be there at the end, especially since the structure of the story had flip Cooper father her child out of rape, and that her surprise moment before the finale was revealing that she too was sidelined in some alternate reality prison for twe...

Re: Is Audrey a tulpa?

Ha, lord knows I choose my canon with this show (basically cherry picking everything after the original episode fifteen) I only meant that if the show continues I wouldn’t be surprised if Audrey’s situation is still tied to that coma and new white world going forward, and the whole Charlie and haird...

Re: Is Audrey a tulpa?

All that Richard said was he recognized Cooper from a photo his mom had... yes it’s clarified from Frost’s book, but that scene may have been filmed early in the process before Fenn’s role was finished being rewriten. As it stands one coukd view it that it belonged to his mother who he never knew be...

Re: Is Audrey a tulpa?

I imagine Lynch would say it’s whatever you think it is... which naturally is both beautiful and frustrating. Going into the finale I thought the Audrey storyline was pretty exciting precisely because of the Diane setup. Since Diane is a character we’ve never met prior to this season, we take her ch...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Love ya, Needleman - and always love reading Reindeer's thoughtful analysis. For the most part - entire part? - of the run i never posted in here. Was pretty much on the ride - it really was just the finale that didn't do it for me -and then had me look at all the scenes prior with more scrutiny. In...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

What I will say about why I liked episode Cooper being as alert and strong as he was is that it didn’t waste any time and was efficient (finally)... that we then didn’t meander with him grappling with the new world... that essentially his twenty five years was not wasted, he was tuned into his surro...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

No kidding! I think Cooper’s return to self should have been in the middle, and sorry I don’t think we really needed the Watts and Sunny Jim characters for his arc. It’s too crowded. And Audrey’s mirror should’ve also been in the middle, amping us up for the rest of the season with her saving hersel...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)

Oh interesting, Hester. I don’t actually know. Meaning if the Red Room stuff had been completed by the time Fenn shot, and thus was the Arm’s line already uttered and then Lynch was inspired to have Audrey say it. Unless she’s pulling a fast one, I’m about 100% sure she did not do the voice for The ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

MT, re Engels I was talking dialogue. I know there was no way anyone else but Lynch and Frost would have story say.. And whoops, I actually meant Harley Peyton! I just feel he writes effortless dialogue for some of these characters. There's a musicality and a rhythm that I feel Lynch and Frost don't...
