Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022

Brad, I was going to try to upload some of the archive photos from the set that we discovered for your book that have never seen the light of day. The cemetery tombstones (Merle, I told you I was sick!), Lynch directing Fenn as she prays from One Eyed Jacks, the court room scenes… so many good fines...

Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022

Wow, I also joined April 2007!

If I don’t get a chance to post again before tomorrow, thank you, everyone for all the fun and memories.

And always remember my dying words…. Annie and John Justice Wheeler are the worst.

Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022

Just heard about the news… jumping in quickly not as a final statement… more of a placeholder. Talk about me taking this place for granted all these years. I can’t even begin to account for how much this forum unexpectedly led me in oaths of my life, and the ripple effect from it. I was in my 20s wh...

Yeah, that TIME magazine was the best. And the Rolling Stone and Newsweek all in the same time about a week before the premiere. Although, thanks Newsweek for basically giving every plot point of the premiere… including it wraps up with BOB killing Laura …with the asterisk of “wait, but BOB might not...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)

Part of the problem with that stretch is not so much the writing or the directing, it’s that the story structure was a mess. They couldn’t land on anything and it kept shifting every week, and there was very little conflict. It’s been common for production to say this resulted in them being forced t...

I assume the general population if asked the question back in 1990 and 91 would answer Lynch directed all the episodes.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)

You know how I feel. The show needed a concrete practical story to hang and work it’s magic around. And it needed the zip and fun of a Leslie Linka Glater and a Harley Peyton to elevate the characters so they don’t always have the heaviness of Lynch (and therefore more effective when he does occasio...

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

Yeah. I was a big big fan. But I couldn’t t believe the final episode came from the same creator. To me it was like bad fan fic.

Oh, oh… Veep is also one of the best written shows of the past decade. And I thought the second season (nine years later) of The Comeback genius.

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

Things have to exist and land for a bit for me to know if they stand my test of time favorites. Usually it all comes down to the writing, and I’m finding the best are sitcoms. The one hour format throughout the decades is harder for me. Cheers. (The Diane years, especially first two seasons) Best pi...

Re: Differing Views on The Return - and a poll for the Disappointed Support Group

I’m not here to destroy Lynch at all. I’ve only heard wonderful things about him from people who’ve worked with him, and also think he’s incredibly nurturing and inspiring to his actors and crew. I guess this was in response to the Tammy character posed a few pages ago. And it goes hand in hand with...

Re: Differing Views on The Return - and a poll for the Disappointed Support Group

Ha I was just thinking about Siskel and Ebert and their Blue Velvet debates. Ebert was a fantastic writer and custodian of film history. But he would definitely get personally ruffled if he felt something was off behind the scenes on a production, and he certainly had his crushes on actresses. He ha...

Re: Differing Views on The Return - and a poll for the Disappointed Support Group

Reading the comments and the theories always gets me interested. I enjoy so many of you on this board. But then when I go seek out or rewatch the mentioned scenes, I get shifty and bored. Maybe I just can’t be objective. I just watched a Tammy and Albert scene where he gives her the origin of Blue R...

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

To LaateReg and others who enjoy and love it, that’s great. And I can completely see and understand it. And I don’t go around to Save By the Bell message boards and spout how inane I think it is. I obviously have a tremendous love and respect for this show since day one, but also one of continued fr...

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

Yeah but for me, if practically everything is that pace, including the action sequences, it loses its power.
