Re: Twin Peaks Inspired Music

There's also Amanda Palmer's Album, "Who Killed Amanda Palmer" but as I posted in another thread, Phil Elverum's current project Mount Eerie has evolved quite a bit, but a more recent album "Winds Poem" was directly inspired by Twin Peaks. He's from the same area where it was fil...

Twin Peaks Inspired Music

I'm not sure if this has been done, but I know of a few songs that have songs (or whole albums even) (music videos too) based on or inspired by Twin Peaks. I thought it would be cool to compile them here in this thread. I'll start with: /watch?v=JQnSc0bczg0 I have a feeling though this thread won't ...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

What are the odds of getting a version of FWWM that has the deleted scenes inserted in? Non-existent, correct? In any case, this is just fantastic news. Most probably non-existent. The released version IS Lynch's director's cut. Pretty much all of the deleted material was cut almost immediately. I ...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

I think it justifies torrenting and pirating in a way. I've had several experiences where foreign releases of songs (bonus tracks, etc) were not available here in the States, so even when I went to legitimately buy it, I couldn't. Torrenting was the only way I could obtain it. It's like, "Dude...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

The UK has never seen HD marketed properly and most people don't understand what Blu-ray is. It's deeply frustrating as we often get shafted with DVD-only releases. I had a feeling TP would be messed around. I have the Gold DVD set on import from the US because they took so long to release it here....

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

Or, if Laura is to be referenced, maybe Sheryl Lee can play an amnesiac woman found walking across a bridge who thinks she might be Laura Palmer, days after Laura's grave is desecrated... Mulholland Peaks, Twin Drive :-D ? I see what you mean... Twin Peaks is still opened to many stories to tell. ;...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

Not to sounds like an ungrateful bastard, but let's say they secure 50% of the deleted scenes, or hell, all but one of them. That wouldn't be enough. I used to work at a cafe in one of the most affluent towns in the country, and I dealt with some of the most elitist, entitled, immature, impolite pie...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

I have a theory that if TP had run it's full course as Lynch and Frost hoped it would, taking it on the trajectory they wanted, spanning as many seasons as needed, the show would still be good, but wouldn't have the cult following it does. Ironically, it has such a massive, salivating bunch of fans...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

if the French release doesn't have them as long as an American release does (or some other country has them). Your last line doesn't have sense at all if you know the story of how was made FWWM... You still don't have an U.S Blu-Ray disc release of FWWM so... Yeah, I didn't phrase that too well. In...

Re: The Black Lodge Encyclopedia returns!

One company I like is Wikia because they have a whole site dedicated to pretty much every pop culture THING , and everything about it, often more comprehensive than Wikipedia. The "Breaking Bad" one, which I've contributed to, has geekier things like a Death counter, who killed who, songs ...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

What makes the deleted scenes so tantalizing is more of the mystery surrounding them. Once we have them and see them, no matter how great they are, it won't measure up to our eagerness to see them. We've been delaying gratification for more than 2 decades. Agree with this 100%. It will be really ha...

Mount Eerie's Twin Peaks Tribute

I don't know how many of you know Mount Eerie. It is the project by Phil Elverum who was behind The Microphones. He's changed a lot over the decades going from experimental noise rock to lo-fi folk, to more melodic noise experimentation to black metal and back to acoustic solemn folk songs. Each tim...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Discussion

I have no idea why MK2 is so f**king obstinate about this. They know we want it, and they know we'll pay for it. It's been bugging the crap out of me that this hasn't happened. The equivalent release anxiety I had was over Christopher Nolan's "Following." That was his first feature, but he...
