Re: Hotel Room and On the Air DVD...any news?

I was lucky enough to see Lynch's Hotel Room episodes on the big screen today and was floored, particularly by 'Blackout'. Incredible performances and astounding atmosphere, even through the blocky VHS haze. It's such an absorbing and poignant piece of quasi-theatre. Dugpa, I saw your recent RT requ...

Re: BBC Radio 4 documentary on Twin Peaks coming 4/6

I'm not in the UK and I've just confirmed I can play several past Radio 4 programmes via the BBC website - iPlayer Radio evidently isn't geoblocked, unlike iPlayer TV. So we can expect to find it here on April 6: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05pktlc Hearing Richard Ayoade talk about Peaks should...

David Lynch multimedia exhibition - Australia, 2015

The Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia is next year hosting what they describe as the largest retrospective of Lynch's film, TV, music, and visual art to date. http://www.qagoma.qld.gov.au/exhibitions/upcoming/davidlynch http://blog.qag.qld.gov.au/david-lynch-exclusive-for-goma/ It runs fr...

Re: Michael Ontkean Will Reportedly Return To Twin Peaks

This is so great. One thing that really works in Twin Peaks' favor for a reunion is just how much all the actors loved working with Lynch, with a joy and fervor that's rare and genuine. So it makes sense that they'll even go as far as coming out of retirement to work with him again.

Re: How David Lynch re-edited The Missing Pieces

Yet Lauzirika has also spoken of Lynch calling him to say that there was 90 minutes of deleted footage, suggesting he'd found sequences rather than the hours upon hours of raw footage shot during the production. Was it just a matter of discovering the original reels of film (and did he really prese...

Re: Joan Chen Reflects on Twin Peaks

Josie is one of the few elements of Twin Peaks that was arguably problematic from the start. She never really meshed well with the rest of the series, IMHO, either in terms of script or performance, and I don't feel she and Michael Ontkean had much chemistry. While the overt sincerity of characters ...

Re: Bob Engels Interview Pt. 2: Story Behind Phillip Jeffrie

Thanks for these interviews. It was great to read Engels engage about the footage we've only just seen, even though he sadly can't remember a lot of what they intended (totally understandably, of course). That Jeffries was looking for Windom Earle was a shock though - did we have any inkling of that...

Re: Questions for Bob Engels

That, but also even with the Lodge material there's such a difference between he Eisenhower/creamed corn planet stuff they brainstormed and the eerie, uncanny, intermixed-with-the-real-world vibe in the film. Hope he was able to address this stuff in the inerview! Looking forward to it. Totally. It...

Re: Questions for Bob Engels

Also, was he surprised by the finished film, particularly its tone and style, based on what they had written? Yes, I'm very curious about this too. Reading the script, and especially seeing the deleted scenes at last, it's hard to imagine how they could possibly have expected some of the scenes inv...

Re: Questions for Bob Engels

Hope I'm not too late. I'd like to know what the motivation and game plan was behind the post-series scenes. They obviously set up a sequel film that didn't happen, but the scenes did so little to move beyond the cliffhanger that it's hard to glean what they set up. The diary element and the nurse w...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

If anyone is experiencing audio sync issues on your player (incl. PS3) disabling the 1080p/24 output setting should work. Someone on Twitter just confirmed to me that it did the trick. Thanks so much, Jerry. I turned off the 24fps setting and the problem has improved significantly. While I'm pretty...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

I've upgraded my firmware, and sadly the problem is still there. The latest upgrade was released in mid-2013. Perhaps the fix that would take care of this hasn't been released yet... Dugpa, I have a Samsung HTC-5500, and have just installed version 1021.0 of the firmware. Also, to answer the earlier...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

I bought the set in a store in Australia today and can confirm that the audio in the Missing Pieces is slightly out of sync with the video. The audio is about a fraction of a second ahead. It could be a lot worse, but it's distracting and hard to believe given all the anticipation and hard work. I'v...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

I think it depends. Anything is better than bubble effect BOB lol But if they can improve the stain somehow to make it look something more meaningful (blood, indentation, whatever) I'm all for it. The way it is looks like an unfinished effect/water leak Agreed. At the moment, the encroaching water ...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

I'm usually a completist but I remember watching those interviews and being underwhelmed. That box sat on my shelf for years never being watched. Is it worth the 10 dollars to buy it back? I hate selling something and then wondering if I should have. I'm still a bit mystified by the season two set....
