Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Lynch seems to really hate negative feedback, but since the vast majority of fans and critics have responded positively to S3, I think he's feeling good about it, Mark Frost too, and I think this is why we've been told they're open to more. So any campaigns calling for more Twin Peaks because they e...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Why are we not allowed to question the tenuous claims of the disappointed? Why should this website be a safe space for them?

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)
The Final Dossier and Frost's interviews back up most of my theories on the show. All the alternative Twin Peaks' timelines stuff is wrong: there's just one primary timeline that's been revised by Cooper's actions. The people of Twin Peaks now believe Laura disappeared. The chronology of the show is...

Re: Calling all who think the original timeline is still intact
If Cooper didn't save Laura from dying, then why did he go to Odessa to bring her back to Twin Peaks where her memories resurfaced? The fact that "Carrie" was able to remember Laura's memories seemed to pretty much confirm to me that the original timeline is 100% intact. If the original t...

Re: FINAL POLL!!!!!!! Your Reaction to The Return as a Complete Work
So like--love 75% and dislike--hate 25%.
Considering how challenging S3 was, that's an amazing success.
And critics and streaming viewers agree.
The show will come back, and the vocal haters will have no effect. Goodness wins again. Evil inhabits its own phantom thread.

Re: Calling all who think the original timeline is still intact
There are real consequences to Cooper saving Laura. That's why the original timeline is toast. OT: Cooper goes to Twin Peaks because Laura is murdered. New Timeline: Laura is not murdered. Instead, she disappears. People disappear all the time, and there's no need for Cooper to come to Twin Peaks. C...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)
I'm not surprised Lynch is open to returning. I've thought, and predicted, all summer long that Lynch would like to continue. The only question was critical and fan response. Critical response has been an overwhelming success, and the streaming numbers have been a success too. The only potential stu...

Re: Annie and Dale
I think over time fans have overblown the importance of Annie. Cooper barely knew her. He had much more history with Diane. And Annie's character was never originally something Lynch was interested in. So why bring her back if you're not interested? Simply because some fans are over invested in her?

Re: Poll: Criticism of The Return
There were no "dropped" plotlines. This is a misconception about The Return, which was not based on a traditional plot where lines could be dropped.
Fans are lazy. They should try to understand what The Return is doing instead of assuming it's simply not able to do what they want.

Re: Calling all who think the original timeline is still intact
The original timeline is toast. Cooper never came to investigate Laura's death. He never met Audrey. He never met Annie. That's why his love interest is now Diane/Linda. The only things that wouldn't change would be things unaffected by Laura's death. Estimating all those threads is impossible.

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?
It was miles and miles above the original, which today is just a quirky melodrama. Not all narrative is interested in character/heart as the main focus (teenage writers are capable of stories with heart). The Return is a parable about the inability to return home, and many other ideas, like performa...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
That's true and it does seem intentional but they also could have spent a lot of the fx budget on part 8 don't you think? Or they could have done everything they did intentionally, don't you think? You have to understand that David Lynch is not a realist. His aesthetic interests are all about chall...
