Re: Jake Wardle Reddit AMA

It always sounded exactly like Lynch to me.

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

The way I see it, I think this debate is divided into at least 3 points of view. There are the people, like me, who like the scene mostly because of what it means, and how it fits into the larger tapestry. Secondly, there are people who purely like the scene for exactly what it is on the surface, i...

He's said repeatedly that many of us are deluding ourselves. He can stop making value judgments about the rest of us now.

We got that many pages ago. Your feelings are clear. This thread isn't your forum to repeatedly insult and condescend to anyone who liked a scene (or series) you didn't.

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Started rewatching FWWM yesterday. The part where Laura goes home in the middle of the day, hesitating to go into her bedroom because of Bob possibly being there, and the jolt of fear that literally goes through the body when you start noticing he's in the room. Almost as if you were there in the r...

That's just blind Lynch worship, finding ways to justify *anything*.

And if we found it impressive to begin with?

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Let me just say - if there had been no Season 3 of Twin Peaks and I had written a fan script for one depicting the exact same scenes of Freddie punching out a Bob Orb with his super-strength green glove, I'll bet everyone here would call it silly and dumb and make zero effort to do any mental gymna...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

The BUF website actually revealed that most of the “Silva” footage was (very impressive) CGI, albeit definitely based closely on existing performances That's what I mean. This is not a new performance, it's modeled off actual existing footage of Frank. Actually, this touches on a large part of the ...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I'd agree with all that except what I just addressed in the glove thread - the green glove was the Fireman's idea, and it was specifically deployed against only BOB. Not Judy. The reason being, some problems and issues - like tragedy, incest, death, failing - are bigger than a superpowered boss figh...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Addressing the way this fight was executed, I have to say it's surprisingly over the top. Remember the simple but bone chilling way that BOB was typically presented? All the screaming and shaking and fire, to me at least, demonstrates how less can be more in certain situations. Are we referring to ...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17

Would you agree? No. I fucking love it. I never felt it was "unearned". I do think part of the scene is a deliberate subversion of the deus ex machina concept, yes - but I believe we are supposed to engage with it honestly and earnestly as Lynch generally does, and as we would've had Jack...

If MJA agreed to participate then tried to up his rate immediately before his shooting date, then yes, I blame him.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I was under the impression that MJA allegedly tried to up his price at the last moment before his shooting date. Everyone was getting paid a base fee, IIRC; that wasn't gonna happen.
