Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I still think the Fireman's House by the Sea is the White Lodge, or as intrinsic a part of it as the Red Room is to the Black Lodge - but what do I know. Still, the portal the gang finds in the woods takes Andy to the Fireman.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

And, yeah, the TP interest across the board is definitely winding down. Oh, dude. Dugpa has been here long before either of us began posting and will likely be here long after. It ebbs and flows with activity. But as for the outside world, as other people have noted since your post, it definitely h...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

I was thinking maybe there should have been a thread specifically for the disappointed and satisfied exchanging views, but seems the conversation is already dying down. Looks like TP:TR didn't hold that many people's attention for very long, it might be too late for a thread like that now. Your beh...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

The whole tlj discourse is interesting, and to me it further proves that "subverting expectations", per se, is little more than an empty buzzword. Fandom talk is indeed very similar to TPTR fandom talk, yet I find myself on the opposite side of the fence. That doesn't mean subversion is a...

Wow. With an opening this strong, I wonder how powerful would the real arguments be.

It's real bad.

This is, of course, utterly false.

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

A bit redundant pointing out what's already been noted, is it not? Yes, a few people have indeed commented as named earlier in the thread- I didn't think I needed to establish that. My point was highlighting why the OP most likely haven't been seeing a "huge number" of industry people com...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

This isn't a knock at Twin Peaks- I'm just stating to many, even those in the industry, The Return came and went and that was that. It didn't ignite a spark outside of the fandom enough for public declaration from industry elites. Except, as has been noted, many of those industry elites did make pu...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

I loved Stranger Things 2 - I thought it was deeper and richer than S1. I also love Twin Peaks, which is just orders of magnitude a much more profound show. They can't be compared IMO, beyond ST taking some of the shared Peaks DNA so many shows have since 1990. Apples and oranges.
