Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Do I believe that Mark Frost doesn't remember every little detail of all of Twin Peaks' often byzantine plotlines? Of course. Creators are rarely as knowledgeable about small details as hardcore fans are. A lot of these small goofs are undoubtedly just that. Goofs. But I also don't believe for one s...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
I've sort of been wondering why TP is in the book at all. I'm not being flippant. What I mean is: What function does this character perform in the story? What's Frost using her to accomplish? At first I thought she was an authority figure for the audience to trust (i.e. "TP verifies this docume...

Re: Secret History of Twin Peaks. Italy, 1999
Yeah, there's no shocking discovery here. The comic is basically fan fiction that riffs on the Lewis and Clark mention in the Access Guide. Since Mark Frost is probably the source of the original Lewis and Clark reference, it's hardly surprising that he chose to pick up that thread for "Secret ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
That hypothetical Season 3 premiere would probably look a lot like the Season 2 opener, with half the town in the hospital. Pete, Audrey, Ben, Annie and maybe even Andrew.

Re: SPOILERS: Inconsistencies in the Secret History of Twin Peaks
On page 233, TP's note (#6) appears to cut off mid-sentence, though her initials are still there. I suspect this is a mere printing error and not significant, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
So does anyone think Dougie will be mentioned in S3? It sounds like Frost just used that character for the book, so it seems unlikely, right? That's my guess. I think MF chose to flesh out Dougie's back story precisely because he's a previously established character who doesn't really figure in to ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
The title of the book may be significant. The book makes a point of differentiating between secrets and mysteries. Mysteries, we are more or less told, are beautiful things and inherent to nature. They can lead us to the truth. Secrets, on the other hand, are man made constructs designed to obfuscat...

Lana would've grabbed that crown and put it on her head while Windom Earle was still in the building.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
I'm happy to hear Mark say that these aren't continuity errors, but characters mis-remembering or mis-interpreting things. That shouldn't detract from verisimilitude, but add to it; that's the way our memories work in real life. As to why some characters have knowledge they shouldn't, perhaps they ...
