Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Lynch is an artist first, and a human being second. “Retirement” is not in the cards. As long as he lives, he will be creating.

Agreed. I think if it hadn’t been an influence, he would have simply said as much.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

What Did Jack Do? was a short Lynch was planning even before TP:TR, and which he first released in 2017 at the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain. There’s definitely nothing to be read into it dropping on Netflix in 2020 (on Lynch’s birthday!), other than a little treat for fans. I honestly ...

Re: Frost on 'Midnight in the Desert' 2/11/20

Couldn't get the broadcast to load. I did end up crawling into bed at 1:19 though. This morning I was pondering what might have been discussed on the show. It got me thinking about Richard and his situation, in relation to Mark's father Warren, which in turn led me to the speculate and wonder if a ...

Re: Frost on 'Midnight in the Desert' 2/11/20

Not much new/different info, but he was consistently positive when talking about Lynch, still calling him one of the best living directors and praising his work on TP:TR. I’m very interested to read the book and the apparently less diplomatic material Jerry referenced.

Re: Sort of Update...

It’ll be interesting to see if Villeneuve adapts the subsequent novels. God Emperor of Dune seems almost unfilmable, so much of it is internal thoughts and exposition. Jason Momoa is brilliant casting as Duncan Idaho. Book spoilers.... As the one character who appears across all the Herbert books, i...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

But in my opinion, the language that's used to describe the relationship between himself and David seems strained. There are a few moments of candidness that surprised me. Sounds very interesting. can't wait to read it. If I had to guess tho, I've been thinking for a while that Lynch wants Twin Pea...

But in my opinion, the language that's used to describe the relationship between himself and David seems strained. There are a few moments of candidness that surprised me. That’s too bad. I know that’s been speculated about, but other than the Twitter thing (and the strange lack of any post-TP:TR i...

Re: Sort of Update...

There’s been news about it! I believe it wrapped filming months ago and is due out this December (presumably the very lengthy post-production will involve a ton of visual effects). I believe Villeneuve is doing what Lynch had originally wanted to do, split the first book into two films, allowing for...

“Just some person in LA.” Yeah, because rumors never get started in Tinseltown. In actual legitimate journalism, you need two corroborating sources. They just admitted they have no source. Some guy in a coffee shop was shooting off his mouth and they decided to try to get some hits. Assuming ...

Re: Does Between Two Worlds indicate Lynch had different plans for S3?

People keep saying this, but it honestly feels pretty consistent to me. Sarah foreshadows something being wrong with the Palmer house, something being wrong with her (putting on the happy face, which is creepy as heck), and talks about watching professional sports on TV (albeit not boxing). Leland i...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Not sure how much of that I agree with, but I’ll note that I think Lynch views 7 as a good number. I think in the Slice of Lynch feature, he and Mädchen bond over liking the number seven, and he later states his feelings about TP in 7 words (making a point of doing so). Also note the hilariously-nam...

Yep, and of course the great Quincy Jones as well, who she married. Clearly musicians liked her, and vice versa.
