Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022
Well, just a few more hours of compulsively refreshing this forum on my phone, almost out of habit. Even with the new Tulpa forum--for which I am so grateful, and which certainly eases the blow considerably--it will be weird to not have THIS site open on my phone all the time. Checking this place ha...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
While everyone’s throwing out wild conspiracies, I’ll suggest this (equally implausible) bummer scenario: there is a plan to premiere a Lynch project that he does not consider complete but has somehow against his better instincts allowed to get away from him; due to NDAs he can’t discuss it except ...

This is like the worst possible version of Christmas Eve as a kid, where I’m mostly expecting to wake up tomorrow and not get what I wanted, but still just hopeful enough to not be able to sleep.

LateReg’s post from yesterday makes sense to me, that it could be the IE restoration, and there was a tragically hilarious Comedy of Errors / game of telephone that led to people jumping to the wrong conclusions. Guess we’ll see!

I want my Twin Peaks yo-yo!
Actually, that feels like an apt metaphor for the past two years of fandom.

I’ve been pretty dubious about HHM and their crass attention seeking almost from the get-go, so I hate to say anything giving them ANY potential credence, but...there was that trademark filing in September 2020 for new merch: https://uspto.report/TM/90225363 Doesn’t seem like any of it ever material...

Was it auditorium 1, the one on the ground floor, directly behind the main entrance (not off to the side)? That's their biggest screen, and where I saw Inland Empire six times in its initial run in 2006/2007. Their other screens are tiny. Nah, it’s off to the side. On the ground floor, the house cl...

Yeah, I saw INLAND in 4K yesterday, and it was very much in line with LateReg’s description. Background details like flowers and trees are still blurry, all the jagged digital edges are still there. But less crushed blacks, more balance and nuance, and some great detail in all those extreme closeup...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
I had no idea Laura Dern was in these, yeah these could be it. (...) Either of these would fit Lynch knowing about a film in Cannes, particularly as EP, he would probably have a hand in getting a good word in with the Cannes committees. Even if that's the case, and I agree it could be, he's still l...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
The whole EW interview is so hilariously uninformative. The interviewer asks what the lumberjack is doing in the end credits of IE (meaning, why is there a lumberjack there?), and Lynch responds that he is sawing wood. The interviewer asks Lynch’s thoughts on Hollywood Blvd., and Lynch responds, “It...

Heh. I’m on edge, sorry. Completely missed the joke.Ickles wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 6:11 pmEither this is also a joke going over my head but mine was intended to be also! Just joking that we'll hear an announcement of a project from an obvious pseudonym for Lynch.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
Lynch shooting in his backyard isn’t unprecedented, though. The Rabbits web series and portions of INLAND EMPIRE were literally shot in his backyard. The majority of the first act of Lost Highway was shot at one of his houses, which “played” the house Fred and Renee live in. He owns three adjacent h...
