Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)

Haven’t seen anyone mention this: the “case number” that appears on every heading page in the book ends in “119.”

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

There's plenty of love and empathy for all the simpletons, all the Lucys and Andys and Candies. Why shouldn't the main character be painted with the same brush? Huh. This is fascinating. L/F, when they work together, truly have a fascination with brain-dead simpletons who are meant to be portrayed ...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Frost makes a few brief (mostly silent) appearances in the Beymer docs and the Lauzirika one. I get the sense that most of his time on set was in Washington, and not so much in LA, the latter of which is where 90% of the BTS footage was taken. Not unexpected, but super disappointing. Glad he at lea...

Re: Parts 1 & 2 - My log has a message for you & The stars turn and a time presents itself (SPOILERS)

Sorry, I misremembered — it’s actually in the Lynch 1 documentary (the feature-length one that was cut from the same footage as Lynch 2, but is sold as its own standalone DVD). Don’t have an exact timestamp offhand, but he’s sitting at his desk talking to the film crew (the same desk where he used ...

I'm not much of a believer myself, I prefer suffixing at least about seven question marks behind each statement or "person." But I do remember that Lynch saw a passage in the bible that brought him to an idea for the ending of Eraserhead, of which he said that it was his most spiritual mo...

BTW Mr. Reindeer, now that I bought a Blu Ray just for this series, can you recommend any absolute must haves on Blu Ray that are in your collection, Lynch or not Lynch. Note: I already have digital copies of FWWM and MD so I probably won't be buying those on Blu Ray, at least not right away. Here'...

“Combined” version vs. two-part version: The combined version entirely drops the “Part 1 end credits sequence,” which depicts the Fireman looking to his left, followed by a slow zoom on the phonograph. Both shots were used in the opening scene of Part 1, but the end credits feature longer extended f...

Re: Parts 3 & 4 - Call for help & ...brings back some memories (SPOILERS)

Fun with freeze frame (courtesy of the Blu Ray). When Gene gets out of his car to put the bomb on Dougie’s Ford, a bank foreclosure sign bears the name of a representative, first name “Roswell” (last name tough to make out). Presumably a nod to Mark’s fascinations! The chocolate bunny box is very si...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Not sure when I’ll get around to the extras — at the moment I’m too excited at the prospect of rewatching the show itself in full HD with no streaming annoyances. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Can anyone who has watched the features say if Mark has much of a presence? I’m excited to see him on set talki...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Reindeer, I’m right there with you the Sunset Blvd. moment... I loved it. But I also loved Catherine’s moment with Mr. Neft, and naming Laura’s cousin Maddy Ferguson... hell, even naming the dead girl with a haunting photo Laura. I’m all down for Peaks being a meta and genre blender. Again, my prob...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

Outside of critics and the Twin Peaks/Lynch fandom, Twin Peaks The Return really didn't make a huge impact so I'm not surprised not many big named actors or directors have yet to chime in because they probably haven't even seen it. I would love to know what Tarantino thought of it as well as what h...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

There’s also the fact that most of the exposition-y dialogue feels very Frost, both in terms of his interests (mythology-building, the supernatural and arcane) and his writing style (see similar long stretches of exposition in his last two books). Watching DKL — a man notoriously distrustful of word...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

A number of TV luminaries were vocal about it — Damon Lindelof of course, Sam Esmail in the podcast he did with Mark. I believe David Chase said after the first few parts that it was superior to the original run.
