Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

From what we heard, it sounded like Ontkean agreed to do it, then backed out fairly last-minute, presumably putting L/F into a fairly tight spot scriptwise. If that was indeed the case, I hope it wasn’t just over money, since he presumably would have known the terms when he initially agreed to do it...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

Mark has also said that the iniial idea he approached Lynch with was Good Cooper reentering the world in an abandoned house in a derelict Vegas suburb, and said he and Lynch had forgotten the “25 years” line until they sat down together to rewatch E29. So that was a breakthrough moment, but not his ...

Re: Shout Factory Collector's Edition Blu-ray out May 22, 2018

The Barry Gifford interview is great. It’s also nice to finally have the uncensored version of Bobby Peru’s death. However, the deleted scenes look like they were just ripped from the Lime Green DVD. In addition to the scratches and discoloration from the original film source, they also have DVD pix...

Re: Shout Factory Collector's Edition Blu-ray out May 22, 2018

IMO, W@H would have been a much stronger work with a lot of the deleted material reinstated. It’s meant to be a sprawling road movie, but so much of the released version is oddly rushed (the opening scenes, the fact that we barely spend any time in New Orleans). The deleted scenes add a lot, and th...

Re: Shout Factory Collector's Edition Blu-ray out May 22, 2018

For some reason I don't have much of a desire to watch the deleted scenes of this or "BV". While I want to watch The Missing Pieces, and own the set, I haven't watched them. "BV" in particular is so tight as is that I don't want another perspective. "Wild" has some fla...

Re: Twin Peaks VR game

So would a game of this type likely be done with CGI/animation? Or would it incorporate actual footage of the sets/locations? Or is it a mix? I imagine they can’t just use footage from the show because they would need full 360 degree walkaround capabilities, right? The fact that DKL is previewing th...

Re: Lynch to release memior 'Room To Dream: A Life In Art'.

Another instance of inconsistent Lynch memory: he claims he turned down directing the film Tender Mercies post-Blue Velvet, but Tender Mercies (ultimately directed by Bruce Beresford) was released in 1983, three years prior to BV.

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

Of potential interest to those who are into the Theosophy elements of the show: traditionally, Mark is most associated with those elements of TP, and I’ve been vocally skeptical that Lynch has any interest in them. However, in the category of eating my hat (or at least a small piece of it), Lynch re...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

And let's not forget: no-one forced Lynch to walk away from TP the first time around . Kimmy Robertson would do well to get her facts straight instead of perpetuating the same old same old rumor whenever she feels like crapping all over season 2 and the collective efforts of people who worked reall...

Re: Listen to the sounds....

Good observations. And of course, the skipping-needle scene in E14 features the white horse, who is linked to the Woodsmen in P8. As I’ve mentioned , the “gatekeeper” Woodsman’s machine in P15 contains a record player (a new addition which wasn’t in Jürgen Prochnow’s version of the same machine in ...

Re: Listen to the sounds....

Good point, that it might be the radio station vinyl in IE. That never occurred to me. I tend to envision old-time radio plays being done live, but I believe many were in fact pre-recorded, particularly the ones with more elaborate production values (like The Adventures of Superman).

Re: Listen to the sounds....

You could easily say that it's a mutual fascination between Lynch & Frost. There's Jacoby (or was it Jerry?) who had the sheds converted into speakers and the huge vinyl collection in TFD, and keeping in mind that Frost wrote E14, with the Leland & Maddy vinyl-skipping scene. Then you have ...

Re: Listen to the sounds....

The record theory ties in (at least as leitmotif) with the Leland & Maddy death scene, that when Jeffries sends cooper back, he flips the 8 around and changes track much like a record, and there's also that the Woodsman swipes a needle off a record to begin his broadcast. Good observations. And...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

You know, that's a great point I'd never considered. Even without the executive meddling, the setup of the series involving other directors & writers was probably doomed in and of itself in terms of Lynch's disenchantment ... I think it's also worth pointing out how Mark (according to Reflectio...
