Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Is that THE ring that Sherilyn Fenn is wearing? Could be seeing things/mistaken... Beautiful covers!

Re: The Entire Mystery Blu-ray: how common is packaging damage?

My set started to come unglued right away, upon first opening the box. To prevent it from worsening, I took all of the discs out and stored them in cd jewel cases– the slim kind that come in a multi-colored pack from Target. That way, I don't have to keep re-opening the box or flip through that cumb...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

The prices are a bit much for the posters. But as for myself, I know that I won't have any interest in the Funko items, action figures, etc. that are coming out, so I just try to pick and choose wisely/ hold out for things that I'll really treasure. I'd rather have something like a vinyl record or a...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I like these posters much better than the fan made/unofficial promo images that have been circulating around the internet within the last year or so. The updated Twin Peaks font–like it as well! Very striking. I'm curious as to if the lettering will stay like this going forward in relation to new me...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

There doesn't seem to be a watershed event, no "Laura is alive" scenario... and of course Lynch being Lynch, I don't think it's gonna be this simple and clear-cut. We haven't seen the last of a living, breathing Laura Palmer I imagine. If any sort of alternate timeline scenario crops up, ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I'm perfectly fine letting this book be its own thing. It doesn't change how I look at the original series or color my expectations of new the series. I'm not looking for clues. I'm not interested in reinterpreting it. It's just sorta.... there. I like it well enough for the most part, but I think ...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Whether it's a money thing or not– whatever it is– I hope that Sherilyn and Lynch smooth things out between one another, for the good of the production as a whole. Somebody else mentioned this a while back, but as the premiere draws near, I highly suspect that Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, etc... will ma...

This is actually the one thing that, without a doubt, I wholeheartedly agree with Sherilyn on.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

I think–whatever is going on– that Sherilyn is just at the point (and we've all been there), where we're just so upset about something that the notion of remaining cool, calm, collected, and rational is no longer on the table.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Regardless, we just don't know the facts. The details will eventually surface I think. If it comes to light that there is a legitimate issue, then I certainly understand why Sherilyn would be upset or feel powerless. It would be hard to stay off of social media about it, despite contracts or what on...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

Good points about Tim Hunter, LostInTheMovies. I've been thinking recently about how death is represented visually and tonally in Twin Peaks , especially in the pilot. There is a romantic and beautiful veneer present, which isn't there in River's Edge , at least in my opinion. When Laura's body is f...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

@ jordanlake, definitely give the book a go– it's told entirely from Kat's point of view– which makes it all the more heart-wrenching at times. The reader gets the sense that Kat and her mother Eve would probably have been able to connect and support one another better had Kat's own teenage angst no...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

I'd recommend Exotica by the same director if you haven't already seen; think you'd like it; Mia Kirshner is compelling in it (she's also great in Love and Human Remains by Denys Arcand). One of my very favorite films! The dialogue in Exotica is some of the best written and most natural sounding di...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

If you don't mind VERY dark and disturbing (but also with moments of great beauty), Mysterious Skin is really powerful stuff, very reminiscent of Fire Walk With Me. An amazing performance by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, certainly the best work I've ever seen him do. The director Greg Araki is a huge fan o...

Re: 'The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks' new novel by M. Frost 2

I was hoping for a traditional novel as well, LonelySoul. Sounds like it may give a little more background information on certain characters and key events– things that will be nice to know about before watching the new episodes and deepen the viewing experience a bit, but not essential. I'll still ...
