Re: Episode 29

One of the funniest things in this episode, that I don’t believe I’ve ever seen someone mention, is that Audrey and Andrew have a very polite, sweet interaction and she then lets him pass — neither one realizing that she is in fact protesting HIS development! It’s a nice bit of subtle irony that I ...

Re: Art Bell died on Friday the 13th

Not sure if anybody in here listened to Coast to Coast AM radio; Art founded the program in the nineties and it is still on the air. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/art-bell-mysterious-narrator-of-the-american-nightscape-is-dead-at-72/2018/04/14/b6f2b278-4015-11e8-974f-aacd97698cef_...

Re: **LISTEN TO THE SOUNDS** - I've completed a 16.5 hour long downloadable "audiobook" version of Season 3.

I think the Rancho Rosa are part of the TV experience for sure, but I'm looking for a potential movie experience. A sort of hypothetical what-if-this-was-shown-in-cinemas-instead-of-TV. It wouldn't work on Netflix because I actually want someone - preferably Lynch, however unlikely - to do it this ...

Re: **LISTEN TO THE SOUNDS** - I've completed a 16.5 hour long downloadable "audiobook" version of Season 3.

This seems pretty darn neat. And also is on the right track to what it is I'd really like, which is a continuous film version of The Return with only one opening credits and one closing credits. All footage in tact in order but without credits as one long movie experience. I'd definitely check that...

Re: Parts 1 & 2 - My log has a message for you & The stars turn and a time presents itself (SPOILERS)

Is Otis the only person is season 3 to call the doppelganger "Mr. C"? I'm trying to think who else does - I think Ray calls him Cooper and Chantal calls him boss. It would be kind of wild if what may have became the most popular moniker for this character is only ever said once, by such a...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Yaxomoxay - I associate 'its in our house now' more with the Palmer house, if it has to be linked to a specific location. But what I mean is that the abuse that happened in that house in Twin Peaks has moved into the Lodge and the trauma it caused has created manifold effects in there and the real ...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?

Great points, claaa7. I do think that scene, like Part 8, represents the L/F collaboration at its most simpatico, a perfect synergy between Mark’s more political sensibility and DKL’s philosophical interest in exploring/combating human suffering and pain. For a long time, I've had a big issue with ...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?

I think it's better to develop a list of top 10 scenes, because there were so many good ones. But if I'm honest, which scene have I watched the most? It is the closing scene of Ep. 2 with 'Shadow' being played in the Roadhouse. Other of my favorite scenes include: -Opening Scene with the Giant and C...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I get that, and it’s wonderful for it to be a success and a joy for you. And remember though I am someone who hated the second half of the second season, and aside from the soundtrack is left cold from FWWM. What I loved about Peaks was how tight it was, like a drum, in that first season... yet sti...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Ugh , I know some of you love it.... but this season could’ve been so, so good. Good directorial moments because well, Lynch... but as a whole I think it’s a tragic, bloated mess. I’ve tried rewatching, and it’s harder for me than 1991 when I actually cried at the back end of season two of how far ...

Re: Poll: Worst Roadhouse performance

All of the performances we're fine- The Chromatics song most perfectly nailed the themes of The Return and is also rates up there with Questions In A World of Blue, Falling, The World Spins and Under The Sycamores as my personal favorites. "No Stars" is an excellent song as well.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I totally forgot this (terrific) TPU podcast exists, with Peyton talking about S3 (it’s right at the beginning of the podcast): http://twinpeaksunwrapped.podbean.com/mobile/e/twin-peaks-unwrapped-122-harley-peyton/ He at one point calls the show worlds beyond what anyone else is doing in television...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I have no desire to tell anyone else how they should feel about the show, but if nothing else, I think this interview should dispel the idea that L/F half-assed this season, or could have “tried harder,” as you say. There are different types of trying, perhaps Lynch could have tried harder by not a...
