This exactly. 100% same feeling here, needless to say I still loved every minute.Panapaok wrote:Dropped plotlines. I didn't really have any issue with the creative decisions such as many locales, different use of music or pacing.

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?
I like both and while they're part of the same universe, I'd rather not compare the two.

Re: Annie and Dale
If you approached them directly, you'd get an answer among the lines of "the inconsistencies even add to the mystery" or "in the end it's up to the viewer to decide" or "there are many different paths to get to the truth" but those only come across as either cheap excu...

Re: Annie and Dale
Yup, I agree. No one owes anyone anything, but it's still quite the bummer that (a) Frost acts like nothing happened despite a number of inconsistencies/retcons and mistakes in his book and (b) Lynch seemingly neglects reading books that are Peaks canon due to "artistic reasons". I know th...

Re: Recut of TPTR
Personally, I found the whole Audrey "arc" pretty useless, but hey, at least it floats some boats. :) I guess David Lynch is a rich old dude who wanted to get some friends good money and a little attention boost for minimalist acting work (Sherilyn did like, roughly 15 minutes or what?). I...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)
The old footage coming into play with the new footage and changing the meaning of the old footage was beautiful in my opinion. episodes 17 and 18 were my fav of the whole Return. Not sure I liked the whole guy with the glove stuff tho. And someone else mentioned this, why not just put the glove on ...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)
The incorporation of secret FWWM footage was pretty mind blowing, as was whatever was going on in that walk in the woods. Old footage? CGI new footage? I couldn't tell if it was old or young Cooper with a lot of it. Yup, totally so. I'm not even sure if that's Sheryl Lee or another certain actress ...

Too many posts spoiling part 18 in here it seems... Please, mods. Be quick. ;) About pt. 17, I literally had GOOSEBUMPS for the whole hour. And that SONG. WOW. Can't really say more, I'm STUNNED. Crazy, sad, beautiful, surprising, etc etc etc. Lynch has definitely done it again. I'll probably wait u...
