Re: General Discussion on Season 3 (All Opinions Welcome)

So let Lynch film a fourth season tax free there, Mr. Dow! ;)

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A 12/10 & The Television Collection 10/15 Blu-Ray & DVD Sets

Assuming this is for Z to A. I don't see Lynch personally going to a studio to do post production on just any interview or BTS stuff. Hopefully this is something more creative. I'm thinking something among the lines of the Entire Mystery's Between Two Worlds or the Log Lady intros now. Omg, please D...

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A 12/10 & The Television Collection 10/15 Blu-Ray & DVD Sets

Wow! Just doing a check in from my summer holidays and what a wonderful surprise!

Wondering if the Z to A has the Log Lady introductions. Probably this would fall under "many features from previous TP releases"

I'm gonna bug some friend with a 4k screen to host a part 8 party!!!!

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19

It's a bit of an unfortunate trend with BluRays. I believe the consensus on the greenish Fellowship is that it's a mistake. As it's only on the blu-ray of the Fellowship extended version, not on the theatrical edition, nor the other parts. I guess we won't ever have to worry about them fiddling wit...

Re: Special Effects in Season 3

No. The young Rachel used a different, way more intricate technique. They filmed a younger double, and then largely replaced her with 3D CGI using old footage of Sean Young for lighting and texture reference. In this sense, the young Rachel is more akin to how they revived Silva for TPTR. For Laura,...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19

Just like how the mention of this release on the original TVshowsonDVD post was deleted (and now, it seems, even comments that were asking why TP was removed are gone), now the article they had about this on Welcome to Twin Peaks is gone. Seems there's an effort to scrub mention of this from the ne...

Naturally I agree. But, if one is truly that desperate to have some info on S4, it might be better to have an occasional imaginary deadline instead of having to hold out hope every single day.

April 8th 2020. That is 30 years from the first air-date. I wish you the best of luck keeping those fingers crossed Harry. :P

Re: Special Effects in Season 3

I think the limited possibilities of the de-aged Laura might have also prevented Lee from pulling some of her incredible acting capabilities. Her facial expressions have always been vital to me, in making her come across as anything between sincerely sweet, poisonously seductive, utterly insane and ...

Re: Special Effects in Season 3

Ugh, for me the FX in the Hobbit were a dread to watch. Especially when I compare things like the CG Lake Town to e.g. the wonderful miniature combined with green screens that was used to depict Minas Tirith in LOTR. A lot of the craftsmanship by WETA workshop got replaced by CGI :( The framerate an...

Re: Special Effects in Season 3

Mind you, I'm a very late student. I am 29 whereas most of my classmates are ~10 years younger. From the way you post, I am guessing you are in or around your forties? I think each generation has a new standard of what appears realistic to the eyes. In that regard, it's fun to realize that magic lan...

Re: Special Effects in Season 3

I was almost always sincerely pleased with the effects of The Return. Like noted by others before, I mostly value the intended general aesthetic of a scene with effects way more than the technology and amount of money/manpower that was put in. In this way, I'd always prefer the Eraserhead Baby to a ...

Re: Part 8: reference to 2001?

Lynch and Kubrick have always vocally expressed their admiration for the other. Kubrick has more than once referred to Eraserhead as his favourite film, even showed it to his crew during production of the Shining to show the mood he was aiming for. Lynch has said that his favourite films by Kubrick ...

I would die to see Lee starring in something Lynch directed again. Anything will do!
