Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Has anyone read Nochimson's "Lynch Swerves"? I believe the show keeps hinting at this whole "quantum superposition" thing, if I understand it correctly. We've got Cooper existing in two different places at once - "You are far away." A Mrs. Houseman complains about a sku...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)

Theory: if Naomi Watts character's name is Janey-E, maybe Dougie is actually spelled Dug-E, as his license plate reads. The Dug is short for Dugpa.

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)

I have a small question. When Gordon Cole visits Denise, he's ushered in by Bill Kennedy (played by Richard Chamberlain). Gordon asks Bill about Martha and trouble with Paul, and Bill replies something about the North Pole. The NY Times review seemed to "get" this reference, without expla...

"As you know, your brother Harry S. Truman is my godfather"

I can't believe I missed such an obvious reference at first. Fuckin' Wally

Did anyone catch that the Chromatics song uses the same chord progression as Badalamenti's theme? I thought that a nice touch to close the premier with.

Regarding gold, I love the disparity between Cooper's awful spray-tan and Hawk being dappled in golden light to highlight his natural skin tone.

and I'm calling it now, the missing gold foil wrapper from the box of chocolate bunnies is gonna be the key

Re: is there any other show that even comes close to your obsession with TP?

Xavier: Renegade Angel, the short-lived Adult Swim series. It's absurd and brilliant, a bizarrely philosophical and spiritual comedy dressed in vulgarities and innuendo. Each 12 minute episode reaches an exponentially surreal crescendo that leaves me buzzing, and it's so dense I pick up something ne...

Re: SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime SPOILERS Thread

More than likely I will be let down, but wouldn't it be nice to finally see the coat room in the black lodge? If not, I just have to know what happened to Coop's coat after stepping through those curtains. :D The flashlight also disappears when he walks through the curtains, which I've always found...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

Interesting that Norma references Victor Buono's poetry on the Tonight Show. His most famous poem Fat Man's Prayer seems relevant to the indulgent dietary habits of Peaks residents - http://wbenton.tripod.com/humor/Jokeindex673.html And cream is cursed, and cake is awful, and Satan is hiding in ever...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

I've listened to too many but here's a few I remember enjoying - Fire Talk With Me - My favorite episode review-based show featuring an older fan and a newcomer. Great guests. Podcast From Another Place - One of the funnier episodic casts. Bunch of jokers and a nice big roundtable with lots of guest...

Re: Red Stitches ! ?

The pilot is especially ripe with the thread of red, and the entire show seems to have a rosy color grading that always serves to emphasize its vibrancy. Sheriff, it's Pete Martell up at the mill. Uh, I'm going to transfer it to the phone on the table by the red chair. The red chair against the wall...
