Re: Part 6 - Don't die (SPOILERS)
Patience grasshoppers. The story is going to unfold slowly- we have 12 episodes to go and then it will be over. We have been given a bottle of fine expensive wine, and we are trying to chug it like Ernest and Juiio Gallo. Let's sip it slowly, and enjoy its flavor. I for one am enjoying the Dougie -...

Re: Part 6 - Don't die (SPOILERS)
I took Coop looking from "Bud" Mullins's boxing poster (presumably a young Don Murray from some film?) down to the flesh-and-blood Bushnell before him to be a contemplation on aging, and on the years Coop himself has lost. Ha, a much more sophisticated reading than my first thought at see...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Pilot Dale also takes Harry aside at one point and gives him a stern(ish) lecture on how, as the FBI, he's the authority in the investigation and he's had local police/FBI conflicts before which he prefers to avoid. The conversation ends on a friendly note, but I kind of liked the idea that there wo...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
These teasers also often end in vague somewhat familiar but impossible to place noise samples. Of course the first teaser had the sudden zzzapp! but I'm digging the more subtle stuff in the last two. They remind me of the incredible and often abstract sound design of FWWM...

Hopefully peeps can finally stop freaking out about Annie-redacts if this is a further exploration of Laura's experiences in FWWM

Re: Showtime to Re-broadcast Original Series Early Next Year
So yeah, that doesn't really mean anything about the release date of the new series, since they probably scrapped the idea of a rebroadcast and they'll just make the original series available on their streaming services. Cool news nonetheless. With the official merchandise news and this announcemen...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Yes, very dark but this series of events would give S3 Bobby Briggs a whole new way to be an antihero (or, umm, anti-villian?) if he believes he knows who Cooper "really" is...Mordeen wrote: Briggs discovered who Cooper "really" was and likely paid for it with his life.

Re: FWWM reference on the show "Atlanta"?
I remember posting about this show in the recommendations for S3 thread a few months ago just based on that Glover interview but have only just begun watching it. The humor can be a bit darkly Lynchian at times. Darius hobbling around the house wielding the kitchen knife in one hand and freshly bake...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
He describes Catherine as becoming a "recluse" and it's a bit difficult to extrapolate how much time would have passed since the bank explosion for that wording to be appropriate. A few weeks, or even months, out of the public eye after losing family in tragedy seems normal to me and not &...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Of course, Frost still could have probably fleshed Norma's motivations out without contradicting the Episode 8 version (or doing so minimally). In particular, I think changing the date and facts of Nadine losing her eye adds very little to the characters or the narrative. (Others' mileage may vary ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
1. THIS IS GREAT I LOVE IT ETA: a stray comment on Reddit made me wonder one thing: 1991 seems to be a big date for the book. I think it would fit with the reports of "minimal post-cliffhanger content" if the book only covered the first two years of the timeskip, wouldn't it? That would b...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3
Much of the reaction to last nights episode of Mr. Robot has referenced David Lynch. Indeed I thought it was one of the more genuinely Lynchian Lynch homages, particularly because of the sound. Yeah Esmail has named Twin Peaks and Lynch as a major influence in one of his recent interviews. And I ag...

Re: What will Coop say when he first comes out of Glast. Grove?
Not terribly imaginative of me, but I'd like him to say "How's Annie?", but with real concern, because this time it's actually Cooper saying it. Followed of course by a more kindly, genuinely apologetic (perhaps accompanied by an innocent blush) plea to be excused briefly to attend to den...
