Re: Tarantino criticism

I can absolutely see that Tarantino is a proper auteur with a unique style. I've just never clicked with it. Maybe I should revisit his early work and see if I can get into it. I've never seen the Lynch comparisons either. Wild at Heart is the only film that to me has any similarity with a Tarantino...

Re: Tarantino criticism

I can never separate Tarantino's films from his obnoxious personality. I once went to a screening of that Grindhouse film he did (with the long car chase), followed by a Q&A. Dunno why, since I never really cared for his films. He gave his typical "I'm a genius" answers, including how ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I agree- everything is consistent with Lynch's original comments after the show aired that a new season would take 4-5 years. I must admit that I am less hopeful now though, simply from the mortality angle. I used to have the strong impression that they had already mapped out a potential S4, but I'm...

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew

That's a generous reading, and I'm not saying that you are wrong. But my first thought was simply that the direction and/or performances was/were poor, and the editing was rushed. When I watched the BTS content on the bluray, Lynch was really on it, and very detailed, however, so perhaps this was de...

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew

I'm glad that you mentioned those sheriff scenes in particular. The "is it about the bunny?" scene seemed really off to me, like it was simply poorly edited. It wasn't that funny anyway, but the performances seemed really laboured. I recall seeing a fan edit with the jaunty music of old on...

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew

I sort of wish the crew had won actually. Many scenes really were too long, and the pacing felt odd in general at points. And not in a "oh my God! This completely breaks the mould and blows my mind!" sort of way. Just in a "that's a bit long" sort of way. The casino scene when Co...

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew

Before you judge this, ask yourself how many times you've worked 70 hour weeks for 18 months on end, under massive financial stress. Also ask yourself how many people you know who have done that? I bet those who have worked under those conditions (I've done it), and know lots of other people who've ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

It's weird if the only way he liases with Lynch is on Twitter. But that has never been the case, and there is nothing to suggest that he isn't still communicating with Lynch. For all we know, he could have done a prune of who he is following, and thought "nah, don't need to follow David because...

:-D

I assume you are joking, but I feel a lot happier, and I recommend it to everyone. I emailed people and asked for contact details before quitting, then I left without looking back. I've got stronger relationships with the people I care about as a result.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I still think the unfollow is largely irrelevant to the prospect of more Twin Peaks. I've now quit social media entirely, but before I did I would regularly follow and/or unfollow good friends to better shape my day-to-day interactions. It was no big deal. Maybe someone should actually ask Mark Fros...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

When S3 finished airing, David Lynch said that it took about 4 years to make the last series, and we should expect a similar wait for any new stuff. There followed all sorts of speculation and crazy rumours, from "there is already another series in the bag" to "they will announce a ne...

Dougie with grey hair!!!!

I don't read much at all into Mark Frost unfollowing Lynch on twitter. It's just an admin thing I imagine. They didn't interact much on twitter anyway did they? Mark Frost seems to spend most of his time making political posts and very cool retro TV appreciation posts.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

My reasoning is simply that there is no longer a doppelganger to rape her. Cooper destroyed it, then changed events. So when he goes into the lodge again, there is nothing to stop him leaving again, so he just walks out and meets the unraped Diane

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

One thing I forgot to make clearer: the Diane that Cooper meets when he exits the lodge (the second time we see it) is therefore the real Diane that has not been raped by a Doppelganger, since this never happened in that timeline. But she has a memory of it happening in another version of events, th...
