Re: Calling all who think the original timeline is still intact

Started my rewatch today (and on a really big screen- fantastic to see so much detail). My thought now is that we're seeing two different realities that exist after Laura's scream in the lodge. In one version, Cooper hears the scream, exits the lodge through the mauve room, comes out as Dougie, most...

hmmm- so they have plot threads for S4 planned, as we all suspect.

Re: Part 18: something's bugging me...

Yes! On my rewatch last night (devoid of the "fucking hell there is only 30 minutes left" panic mode) it's actually really obvious (and reassuring) that Cooper knows exactly who he is and that he has gone somewhere to do something. He looks wary, he looks like he is concentrating very hard...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

Great thread - I have been thinking about these things a lot as well. To me, the ending must have been something that Frost and Lynch both worked hard on, since it is something that a writer would really care about and want to be handled properly. It has a literal interpretation (Cooper goes into an...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

So: I still want more Twin Peaks! These articles popping up all over the place saying that there is nowhere for the story to go are baffling and annoying to me. No-one could predict where the story went for 18 hours, so why does it now seem impossible to continue it? :-D

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Just rewatched 18 (with some trepidation). On a second viewing, it was enjoyable (i.e. less depressing) than I was expecting, and it reinforced my relatively simple and literal view of what occurred. Also, Cooper is clearly harder than normal, but didn't seem as far from "good/normal" Coop...

Yeah I think that there might be something in this. I'm just not sure what!

It's one long film: 18 parts (1 hour).

Re: Watching 17 and 18 in sync

Of course, the mathematician in me is now pondering the logical extreme of this: let's watch all the episodes simultaneously!

I skimmed the reddit thread and though "hmm, none of this looks persuasive to me", but you are making me think again!

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

Remember when Showtime said that "nothing about how this is released is going to be conventional", or something like that. I don't really see what that meant. They basically showed it every week except for skipping a few weeks, and they released some episodes together. Hardly ground-breaki...

I must admit that I'm quietly hopeful. In any case, we are unlikely to ever get a definitive "no", so we can keep on hoping until it really becomes impossible.

I don't think he was idle for 25 years. My inference is that he was learning/plotting/liasing with the spirits in that time.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

A few days on, I'm (like many) still powerfully affected by the finale. It has restored the sense of unease in rewatching Twin Peaks which I had after my first viewing (i.e. knowing that a bleak ending was there). This was erased when S3 was announced, but of course it has merely replaced it with an...
