Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

Amazon only lists Amy Wersching (Tammy's voice in TSHOTP) in the TFD audiobook. Do we have any different info or can we assume it means exactly what it says on the tin, i.e. that they didn't bother with a full cast production this time, and that Tammy is still the frame narrator?

Re: Reconciling the ending of FWWM with the ending of The Return

I need to rewatch the pt14 sequence to see if there's anything we can infer from the specific order of images, but I think it's very important that Laura's angels are in TPTR as part of Andy's vision. So yes, I think that ending is still on her horizon... That's a good point. I had assumed that Lau...

Re: David Lynch should not get away by declaring TP as a "dream"

It's good that he didn't, then, since none of the interpretations allow for a wholly logical dream reading to lock into place. Took the words right out of my keyboard :) "Who is the dreamer" as a plot point would've been eeeeeh. Thankfully, as a wider question embracing its whole fictiona...

Re: ALBERT appreciation thread

We'll miss you, Albert. Beautiful posts. I am heartbroken that his final performance turned out to be a harsh downward arc, but it is a relief that the character, at least, is now in a place to leave it all behind him and heal. We are first presented with his still vivid affection for Cooper, we see...

Re: FINAL POLL!!!!!!! Your Reaction to The Return as a Complete Work

I would posit a third option: I think TP's three major iterations (S1-S2, FWWM, and TPTR) are complimentary works. S1-S2 is the town's story, FWWM is Laura's story, and TPTR is Coop's story. The ending of FWWM and the ending of TPTR obviously parallel and complicate one another, but they both make ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

To say that Cooper would never have solved the Palmer case is a bit of a stretch. Saying that the murder was solved by Laura's spirit is an even bigger one. Remember, around the time Cooper finally apprehended Leland, the show was still (mostly) grounded in a sort of believable reality. Cooper's dr...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Discussions like this are the reason why I wish that "neutral ground" thread where all opinions are welcome had gained traction. Sorry for the intrusion. My take is that agency and heroics have never been a defining trait of Lynch protagonists. They're victims, assholes, or some combinatio...

Re: POLL - Do you Like Season Three and How long have you been watching twin peaks.

32 years old, 2013 fan, the last generation of TP fans to get the shock of the season 3 announcement :) I've since rewatched it with all the rl friends and relatives I've recced the show to. TPTR is, barring unforeseeable disasters, my all-time favourite tv show. If Episode 18 delivers, I'd go so fa...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Delurking for statistics' sake: There's plenty of praise for TPTR on hipster&younger-skewing Tumblr, like on all other social media, but there are disappointed voices too. Probably growing. Of course it's hard to gauge the response in a fanbase at large because the superfans will be vocal whethe...

Re: Who exactly has been part of the Blue Rose Squad?

They were always "Cole's Blue Rose cases"... the agents selected for these blue rose cases make up a blue rose task force, I reckon, it's not a big lexical stretch? And to me, the fact that we've seen a blue rose in pt3 makes this dying woman's words all the more delightfully mysterious. W...

Re: Who exactly has been part of the Blue Rose Squad?

I rather suspect we're staring at a retcon. The only way I see of reconciling FWWM's scene with pt12's exposition is that Gordon picked Jeffries, then Gordon picked the other three, and Gordon kept these two branches of blue rose wholly separate for some reason (Jeffries was his peer and they worked...

Oh this is wonderful! I wonder if the FBI logo on the cover and this wilted (blue?) rose mean that the 'key characters' the book is going to focus on are mostly FBI folks?

Re: Teenage characters de-aged by the network?

Okay, thank you very much! Seems like nobody's heard of this, and if the people of dugpa, of all places, haven't heard about some TP trivia, chances are... :D Combined with the couple of verifiably false tidbits in the same post, I can rest easy and call nonsense on the whole thing. Beside the Log L...
