Re: The Random Season 3 Thread
One very strong possibility about Leland in S3 that hasn't been addressed in recent posts is this: We are seeing the Leland who killed himself after Laura went "missing" rather than being murdered by him. If so, it's interesting that Leland is asking Cooper to find Laura, since it's Cooper...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
I think I need to give Part 9 another chance. That one has always been my least favourite - it just bores me. The Farm scene never really stood out to me, so now I'm excited to see it again, knowing it's someone else's favourite. It's just weird. Mr. C is like a lion on a lift when they bring him u...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
Still in the middle of my first rewatch, and have many favorites, but at the moment I'm leaning toward Bobby and The Honking, with Mr. C at The Farm being a close second. My favorite scenes change based on where I'm at emotionally, just like with the original show, and I'm guessing this is true for...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
OK, I have a new favourite scene to add to my list! I rewatched Part 6 the other night, and there was a moment that had previously passed me by that really hit hard. When DougieCoop is in his boss's office and Bushnell is looking over the case files, there is a beautiful moment where Coop looks up a...

Re: Freddie's fight scene in part 17
I didn't like it the first time, but I've loved in subsequent viewings. It doesn't scare me the way that the best BOB scenes from the original did, but it does have a great intensity to it. Something that I don't think has been mentioned is that perhaps Coop couldn't kill BOB because, after the dopp...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
If I had to pick just one, I suppose it would be Sarah Palmer smashing Laura's photo. That scene haunts me the most. But here's a longer list of my favourites: - Episode 8 in its entirety. - All Sarah Palmer scenes. - All Carl Rodd scenes. - The glass box. That sequence is great as a self-contained ...

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?
My feelings have been inconsistent since the start - unsure to like to love to hate to like - etc etc They have settled to a feeling of satisfaction. There are many episodes that are superb as standalone films. Episode 8. Episodes 11. I re-watched episode 10 the other day on a projector - and it was...

Re: Cry for help: First supernatural event by Laura?
Fair enough, I just think it's kinda ludicrous to bring Carrie Page into it is all. Well, obviously I don’t meant that in 1989 Lynch had Carrie Page in his mind (who knows?!? ;) ). However some things might work retroactively. It is possible that he had the idea that Laura was special in a su...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)
I am very torn on whether The Return is sexist or not, and if it is, to what extent. Or, if the show is exposing misogyny and confronting viewers with it. Maybe a combination of all these things.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)
Happy to say I'm now profoundly satisfied! With all of my original expectations and disappointments about was the show was/wasn't out of the way, I have a much better appreciation for the work. I don't think it's Lynch's masterpiece, and I do think it could have been cut down just a wee bit in the e...

If there's a S4, I can almost imagine the opening scene features Audrey waking up in a psych ward and going for breakfast with Annie.

I agree with that assessment EXCEPT for Nine Inch Nails. Their performance is part of what makes Part 8 so special.sylvia_north wrote:https://www.kqed.org/pop/95873/the-musi ... ry-episode

Re: Cry for help: First supernatural event by Laura?
Na, not a supernatural event. Just a beautiful stylistic flair that emphasizes Laura's pain and suggesting that her spirit is in some kind of limbo. I don't think it "happened" diegetically (in the world of the story).
