Re: Music From The New Series
Do we still not know where "Night" plays in the series? It's a gorgeous piece - maybe my favorite on the album - but I don't remember hearing it anywhere.

That was the magazine misconstruing her talking about Blue Velvet.Metamorphia wrote:Does anyone remember when Laura Dern was doing the promo stuff for the new show and she gave away how she had some "beautiful" dialogue with Kyle about the robins? What happened to that?

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
I dunno, it seems like Twin Peaks is headed for a maaaaajor last act Lynchian twist, ala Mulholland Dr (we may have already seen the beginning of it with that last shot this week, though I'm not sure where they could go with other stuff). I won't be shocked if it doesn't, but I will probably be a l...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "double murder" Cole's talking about Major Briggs and Ruth Davenport? Or is there a second "double header" that people are referring to?

Interesting that, just like last week, we've got an image of a character wearing an outfit we haven't seen them in yet.

Another thing I loved about tonight - FINALLY hearing "No Stars" in a David Lynch project. He, Neff, and Rebekah wrote that back in 2001, if I'm remembering Greg Olson's book correctly. That's a hell of a long game.

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
I transcribed Margaret's monologue in case anyone wants to reference it: Hawk…electricity is humming. You hear it in the mountains and rivers. You see it dance among the seas and stars, and glowing around the moon. But in these days, the glow is dying. What will be in the darkness that remains? The ...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
After all, EvilCoop was about to be drawn back into the lodge and he literally CHEATED to stay in this reality. Judging by that, the lodge must be a really bad place, if even the evil Doppelgangers don't care much for going back home. :) I assume it's more that the Lodge has very specific rules, wh...

Found this tonight in The Air is On Fire: definitely the frogroach. It's got the little beak and everything.

Well, the air is on fire, for sure.
That was incredible. Unlike anything ever seen on television before, certainly. As much as I've loved the show so far, it didn't feel truly groundbreaking - truly vital - until tonight.

For the record, I hated HATED the scene with Wally when I saw it last night. No idea how anyone could have found it funny.
So I watched it again, tonight, in isolation, and it's hysterical. Brilliant.
I suspect this show is going to survive very well in rewatches to come.

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (Spoilers)
My favorite part of these two, I think, is the opening to Part 3, with its "glitching" motion. That's got to be Lynch deliberately taking advantage of the medium, and it's something I don't think has been utilized often enough. Sort of a modern day "backwards talking" equivalent.

I disagree - the scene where Coop walked sideways through what looked like a solid set of curtains had my jaw on the floor. That felt like a perfect use of CGI to me.crazyscottishguy wrote:My only complaint is the Red Room scenes. You can clearly see the difference between digital and celluloid.
