Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
I'm not sure TP will be eligible as limited series. This are the rules as of 2015 : Definition of "Series" and "Limited Series": "Mini-Series" will be changed to "Limited Series" and defined as programs of two or more episodes with a total running time of at ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
If GoT takes the cake instead of Peaks next year around, I'll just take it as a sign of the times we live in. :) I never understood the hype it had/has going. Medieval stuff isn't my cup of tea on the other hand. I strongly turn my back on it every time I stumble upon "Knights and princesses&q...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
There definitely is - that's why he reminded me of the Joker. And that's a good point about the campiness not being as much of an issue since it's already completed. I'm sure some of the new characters will add humour as well, given that there's people like Michael Cera in the cast. I agree that he...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Really? I bet a bunch people would've been able to sneak up and make a likewise shot of Lynch's notes during all that time shooting, would they have had the intentions of doing so. Lynch doesn't seem the type who would be constantly guarding his notebook, rather that he'd just trust the people arou...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Considering all of Earle was sans Lynch (and Frost from the sounds of it, until nearer the end) I think we have little to worry about. Having said that, i think bad coop could still have some slapstick moments. When Frost was asked what was the funniest moment for him in the show he picked out Andy...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
That's a good way of describing it. More sinister is spot on. With Twin Peaks we were looking at everything through Cooper's eyes of finding it a charming and quirky town, and everything with Laura was implied, so the audience didn't have to really think about just how messed up her situation was. ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
I know it's subjective, but I don't find anything in FWWM to be any darker than Maddie's murder in season two. So I don't really get the whole "but it's going to be soooo dark, like FWWM-level dark" mindset. I think it's a matter of POV. In a way the show, especially the part revolving ar...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
I'm only partially through the book myself, but from what I have read here I already know that the archivist, at least for a former portion, is Major Briggs. What I find strange is the obviously doctored and false documents, such as Douglas Milford's Roswell pass. The Pass doesn't seem to have a si...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Who knows... My guess is that whatever it is, it's not necessary if that is new footage or anything, but it's highly symbolic nature. Typically Lynch/Peaks to me. A somewhat tattered Laura photo which we already know but maybe not in this context, along with Coop "stepping out of the dark"...

That's Twin Peaks for you. Everything's plausible, nothing is definitive.

Re: Questions about the show
I think what I have most issue with is the representation of Leland in the show vs. the movie as it seems to be a retcon. I don't have issues with Lynch going in the direction of Leland being an abuser to an extent, but it seems to contradict the show. Hopefully we get an answer for that. Interesti...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017
Could this - ie. the need for the emphasis on the "big" background themes, topics etc. in order to draw critical, public, media etc. attention to a cultural product - be the general case with the whole of Europe, do you think (not just you, NighTimeMyTime, but other forum members too)? An...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
I love the song and think it would fit perfectly in a number of scenes. The song is about growing old and that haunting guitar is beautiful paired with his voice and that's just the live version. First time I heard it back when it first leaked I loved it then. While I agree it doesn't fit with the ...

Re: Dopplegangers
Remember, Bob immediately follows it up with "I never knew you knew it was me". Which makes sense. It can both confirm Leland's statement (he never knew she saw him as Bob) while making it plausible Bob is an existing entity who didn't realize Laura could see him as such. Bob makes that s...

Re: Dopplegangers
Oh, definitely. Concepts of demonic possession often deal with the guilt of the victim. I think FWWM made it clear that Leland holds some amount of responsibility, in contrast with the episode in Season 2 where Leland dies. I think Lynch had already made up his mind in the finale, with the doppelgä...
