Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I've been binging on Mad Men lately and came across this article last night - it's a few years old, obviously, but a fun read for anyone who enjoys Mad Men/Twin Peaks connections.

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I think that she'd be a phenomenal Twin Peaks resident, so I hope that Laura thinks the same thing and subtly conveys this to Lynch. - Some great acting and range for such a young age. - Would love to see her in a Season 4. - Didn't know she had a film planned with Laura Dern - I have a feeling we'...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

I don't know why, but I decided to look up more info about Formica online . . . When Formica Laminate was first invented in the early 1900's, it was originally invented for electrical insulation as a synthetic substitute for mica (Mike?), which had been used previously. It is also heat resistant. (F...

Wally Brando paying tribute to Hawk would have been fun to watch, too.

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

I really liked Robert Forster as Frank Truman -- but I do think the scene where Candy Truman is freaking out about random domestic things might have been a little funnier with Michael Ontkean reacting to her (I'm thinking his reactions to Lucy describing Invitation to Love, or even his initial reac...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

Mad Men is the only show that came close to rivaling my love of Twin Peaks, but I've really been enjoying Sharp Objects, and it has filled some of the void since The Return went off. The show is definitely more basic in its approach, but the underlying story and motivations of the characters are muc...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

When Andy yells "very important," I thought maybe it was his and Lucy's code that something serious was about to go down and might have even been instructional for her to get the gun since in his vision, he's actually positioning Lucy in the hall. When she realizes the man in Frank's offic...

Re: Emmy Nominations thread

No matter how much I try to let it go, I can't, because it just boggles my mind that these institutions are in place that are meant to honor the best in their field, and no elaborate history of wrongness is ever learned from. It just makes me wonder what it will take. I hope we get some good articl...

Re: Emmy Nominations thread

- Want to chime in with everyone else and say Kyle not being nominated is crap. I was really looking forward to him at least being nominated and wanted him to win so badly - The Return was the best performance of his career. - Feel bad for Kyle - at a minimum he deserved a nomination.

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I'm not sure if this article has been mentioned yet, but there is some good stuff here. I think John Thorne is interviewing the author for the next issue of Blue Rose Magazine: http://politicsslashletters.org/dreamer-twin-peaks-return/ Great article - will need to read it a few more times to captur...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

A coworker and I were discussing the Timmy Westphall Universe today ( you’re welcome ), and I noted that according to the site, the closest TP has had to a crossover is a mention on Fringe that a character is friends with Jacoby. However, that reminded me that I’ve read Russ Tamblyn played a charac...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I think there's a very conscious element at play. If it's not exactly about reclaiming the show, specifically, it's always struck me as very consciously about the dangers of wanting to dig back into the past. For the first time I see the potential meta-textual element of Cooper looking back at Laur...
