Re: Lynch's short "What Did Jack Do?" now on Netflix
The most promising thing about this is that there must be a bigger Lynch deal at Netflix for something unannounced. There's no way the reported meetings were all for distributing an old short.

Now that the dust has settled and I've had some time to think: yep, still think it's better than the original run by far. Pure A/V magic and I sure hope they cast another spell. My original "!" has settled into "!!!" after a rewatch burst.

Going by her social media feeds, I don't think I'll ever understand her. That's fine!

I much prefer it to the original, which was already one of the best television shows ever made. How they managed this still impresses the hell out of me.

Re: From an artistic standpoint, why was The Return needed at all?
"Argument? I thought this was abuse." Seeing a full page of penny ante moaning and whining threads on a fan forum as one of the most interesting tv experiments of the past 20 years is still echoing in our heads is pretty comical. It's already looking as drearily short-sighted as all the FW...

Because it's a horrifying image that sticks in your mind? Leaving questions is the POINT.

Better than the original, leaving us with piles to think about and so many places for things to go if they can continue. So glad this was made and everyone brought their A game.

Absolutely loved it! Oddly enjoying the anger and disappointment being expressed at well. It wouldn't be a proper Lynch mindfuck without expectations kicked down an elevator shaft!
Glad I'm left with a huge grin and many questions. Season 4, please.

Pretty amusing to see it through a conservative filter, but then again I always figured the National Review was mainly read by liberals thinking they were broadminded enough to get the other side:

It's especially difficult to get a "true sense" of the reaction when you've already decided what the reaction should be. Or does the above not apply to you?
