Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline

I still wonder why Hastings' secretary (Betty) would only give the coordinates to Ray. Did Ray and her have some prior relationship...? Also, when did Ray find the time to interact with her -- Betty was killed in a car bomb, and Ray was arrested seemingly a day after teaming up with Mr. C. I don't r...

Re: Kyle MacLachlan sounding far less optimistic about more Twin Peaks

Seeing how into sound design Lynch is these days, I wouldn't mind them continuing TP as a serialized radio drama. Obviously I'd prefer a season 4 on showtime, but I'm sure Lynch + Badalamenti and his other audio collaborators could produce some real rich headphone experiences were they to continue t...

Re: An apologia for Sarah

I'm still wrestling with how to interpret Sarah from Season 3 to FWWM to the original series -- not sure whether she is a hapless victim, or an otherwordly antagonist, or a regular human complicit through her denial & enabling. But just recently I've started to view Sarah, at least in the contex...

Re: What Did Laura Whisper?

That's an interesting thought. Instead of no specific time though, what if it's a specific place in space time? What if the orb creation sequence takes place "concurrently" with Cooper seeing Laura get ripped from the Lodge, and The Fireman deposits her in "the past" to grow up ...

Re: An apologia for Sarah

This is one of the main paradoxes that drive me nuts. I think that's a very good theory, but if it is the case that Laura disappears from Cooper in 1989 at the same moment that she disappears from him in the Black Lodge (as you say, the scream is the same so it makes sense), and if we say that happ...

Re: What Did Laura Whisper?

My first thought was maybe she whispered something about not wanting to be saved, echoing Jacoby's epiphany in the original series about Laura 'allowing' herself to die. But it might tie into something else I've been pondering. People have speculated about the linear (or non-linear) nature of Lodge ...

Re: Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

Does anyone think that Laura, at the end of ep. 17, exited to a new existence in Odessa as Carrie Page to avoid dealing with confronting her mother..? I mean, if Sarah/JUDY could just flick anyone into a new life at will, then how could anyone ever confront her? I think on some level, Laura might've...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I imagine that ultimately the Red Room is like any other organization -- they might have all these rules and codes, but they break them all the time. This might be evidenced by BOB trying to withhold garmonbozia from MIKE, and all the other (perceived) infighting amongst the spirits during the series.

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

For some reason I took the arm-doppelganger's cry of "non-existent" to be a statement on the status of Cooper. In the final episode of the original series, Cooper bargained his soul over to Windham Earle, then BOB disintegrated Earle. BOB and the Red Room confined Cooper's soul, but maybe ...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I do feel Phillip Gerard is somehow freed of MIKE/The Arm's influence during or before season 3. During the original series & FWWM, he alternates between being an innocent shoe salesman and feuding with BOB over garmonbozia. In Season 3, Phillip Gerard is trapped in the Red Room, and garmonbozia...

Re: Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

Maybe Laura was never supposed to die to begin with, at least not before she finally confronted & defeated her mother (JUDY). Maybe Cooper wasn't going back in time to spare her from death so much as he was trying to take her home for a final showdown with Sarah. Before she was snatched away fro...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I'm happy to remain vague on Jeffries, at least whilst there's still a chance there may be more to learn. But i'm still lost as to the supposed relationship and 25 years worth of activity between Mr C and Jeffries. My highest moment in TPTR was the prison interview scene and the 'working primarily ...

Re: Caroline & Carrie

If Cooper's quest through the Black Lodge and Season 3 involves conflating Annie and Caroline's identities, as well as Laura and Carrie Page's, couldn't something similar also be at play with long lost sisters Diane and Janey-E? I don't feel like they are sisters in a literal sense, because of the s...

Re: Billy and Charlie

I'm also of the opinion that Phyllis Hastings was possessed by a Woodsman, as suggested by the appearance of the Woodsman near hear husband's holding cell, and Mr. C's cryptic comments to her (something about her imitating human nature? Can't remember the specific quote). Also, I imagine that the w...

Re: Billy and Charlie

In terms of the Billy=jail drunk theory, this is all I can muster towards it: The description of Billy from the two girls sitting in the Roadhouse booth describes a man with a bleeding mouth, which the drunk has. Audrey is looking for Billy, who has been missing, possibly on a prolonged drinking bin...
