Re: Sopranos thoughts (spoilers)
One other random tidbit: In the final episode, David Chase makes it a point that we know the name of one of Tony's minor lackeys. Walden Belfiore, who also shoots Phil to death in the same ep, explains to Tony and Paulie that his mother named him after Bobby Darin, whose real name was also Walden. P...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
That would be far less likely than Coop tbh. The show ended and is being quietly scrubbed from the MCU canon with each new show/film. He died in the earlier seasons anyway. It was only ever half-heartedly MCU and each season saw it drift further away from overt MCU connections as the writers found ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
I've chucked my smart phone, and (mostly) avoid social media these days -- I am out of the loop about random things, but overall a healthier person for it. But LFB -- I really liked her in "Happiness". Her awkward scene on the couch with Philip Seymour Hoffman was the highlight of that mov...

Re: FWWM as Limited Series/Mini-Series with The Missing Pieces?
I tried breaking up FWWM+Missing Pieces into individual episodes, just as a thought experiment when I had too much free time a couple years back. I think it came out to 4 eps, roughly 50 minutes or so a piece. Episode 1 was the Theresa Banks stuff, Episode 2 + 3 is a weird mix of Laura's story with ...

Re: Least Favorite Storyline in Twin Peaks
"You're my daddy" works for me personally. I'm probably pulling on a lot of stuff outside the "text" with this, but "you're my daddy" sounds like a response to "who's your daddy?", a phrase not typically associated actual father-child relationships. Instead, i...

Re: Least Favorite Storyline in Twin Peaks
Yeah, my personal favorite Donna scene in season 2 would also be her telling Harold Smith about the swimming expedition. My least favorite Peaks storyline has got to be Windom Earle though. I know that a lot of the show's mythology comes from that, and Earle gives the show the narrative thrust that ...

Re: Least Favorite Storyline in Twin Peaks
"Ben as Donna's dad" isn't an original storyline by any means, but it's partially salvaged by Doc Hayward going postal on Ben in the finale.

Re: The Packard Mill
There was some definite story potential in dealing with the mill's (sort of) destruction and aftermath in Season 2... but realistically the demographic and economic effects of something like that would take a couple of years to really become apparent. Although obviously realism never stopped Lynch o...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
TP always looks and feels like a town of 5,000 people to me. Maybe Ben Horne made up the 50,000 number to attract investors for Ghostwood? I don't mind the Roadhouse doubling as the courthouse... although it does make me think about Cooper's press conference in the pilot. That looked close enough to...

Re: How would a Twin Peaks movie in 1992 have fared if it was a direct sequel Instead of a prequel?
Yeah it's weird how opinions and tastes change over the years -- I used to love to myth episodes and view the bulk of stand-alones as filler, but now I kind of feel the opposite. I'll always love "Duane Barry"/"Ascension" though. Those were probably the eps that initially made me...

Re: Ideas for additional storylines for the original series
Not a totally radical concept, but the show really could've milked Leland's death (and the revelation that he was the killer) for drama and story. Instead of jumping three days and barely having the other characters react, maybe linger in the trauma a bit. The pilot episode was great, and it was mos...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
All the chatter about a Peaks season set in the 50s brings back memories of those old rumors for BOB's origin: that he was somehow created (or conjured) by the original airing of that episode of "I Love Lucy" where Lucy gives birth.

Re: Sopranos thoughts (spoilers)
My whole post is a spoiler. What happened to Christopher was one of the more unexpected and disturbing events in any film or series I have ever seen. I am not a person easily disturbed, especially not by film or TV, but The Sopranos had a few scenes that really shocked me and stuck with me, because...

Re: How would a Twin Peaks movie in 1992 have fared if it was a direct sequel Instead of a prequel?
Yeah, I agree. DS9 had such an ensemble of great characters, that they could do like a Quark-centric episode here and there. I remember seeing one episode during the X files Robert Patrick era and Duchovny guested on it, I was completely and totally lost. the cigarette smoking man had a mysterious ...
