Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group

Okay, DKL just released a statement on Facebook clarifying, and I'm happy he did. It was necessary, and I wish it wasn't, but it is enough. Yes and the first poster in response to it gave this genius response: 'And now Trump is the only person in this planet who has made David Lynch explain somethi...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Season 3 can be open to criticism, especially with deliberate choices that were made story wise. But it's hard to argue that Lynch did not break boundaries once again with some of the most visually and auditorily compelling scenes on television ever. The Purple Room, the 'White Lodge', the Black Lo...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Audrey — I disagree that Dale is unworthy of this type of exploration. One of the most fascinating things about this season to me is that L/F made the seemingly counterintuitive decision to give the Diane Selwyn/Nikki Grace/Fred Madison treatment to a character who, over the course of 29 episodes o...

Right. I’m basically going to skedaddle for the Christmas period. It’s been a strange and fascinating year. It’s been a blast talking to everyone here. Wishing you all a fantastic Christmas and New Year. I’ll raise a glass to you all when I’m sitting next to my parents’ Christmas tree tomorrow. Dom...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I have recently discovered a common thread among my friends who like the show..... Every one of them was a fan as of late, meaning that they didn't watch the original run. I wonder if the majority of us who were disappointed were people that had allowed the show to percolate in our brains for 25 ye...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Ahahahhahaha ! :) well first coffee is usually an espresso Maybe they should have intravenously fed Dougie espresso to wake him up quicker instead of waiting for him to randomly shove a fork in a plug socket. I am pretty sure that my wife thought about walking me next to a socket and giving me a fo...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

She says Dougie reminds her of me in the morning, before coffee. I am NOT going to ask her if it’s somewhat a compliment!!!!! That's funny. Wow you must drink strong coffee to snap you out of Dougieville in the morning. Ahahahhahaha ! :) well first coffee is usually an espresso Maybe they s...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Last Sunday my wife (not an obsessive TP fan like I am, but she saw and enjoyed everything multiple times) said: “I truly miss waiting for Dougie in a new episode”. More than that, she admitted that she liked TP:TR more than S1 and S2, although she also added that she would’ve probably not enjoyed ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Compared to episodes 8 through 14, yes, this was nowhere near as good on straight quality. I'll take it over anything after that, though, including the series finale perhaps. The shows are so different, though, it's almost inaccurate to call them by the same title. While I don't agree with your ass...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think "disappointed" is officially the wrong term for this thread. If it was just that this thread would have died not long after the series aired. Vitriol is a more apt word. Vitriol is harder to let go of. When I've been disappointed by something I usually let it go and forget about i...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Why are we not allowed to question the tenuous claims of the disappointed? Why should this website be a safe space for them? Hello W&S. We can all question each others claims of either adulation or disappointment until the cows come home. This thread however, was just one thread that those who ...

I just have no desire to rewatch the show because of what it was, not who was in it or what they have done in the past!

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

So, if what I heard is true, the new book potentially ties up loose ends and what happened to some of the older characters. If so (and it is a big IF as I don't know if it does) why couldn't they have done that during the series? It would have been great to have an explanation of what happened to Au...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Have any of the disappointed crew gone back to watch series 1 and 2 and FWWM since viewing TP3? I was wondering if it changed how you felt about them now when watching.

I've decided to brave it tonight and see how it goes. Hopefully it won't feel too weird.
