Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022

Hi there, I finally remembered my account details for Dugpa's messageboard. Just in time to thank you for hosting this wonderful place for so long. I used to post quite regularly way way back in the early days, then popped back again once in a while to check how everyone was doing, then a little mor...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Hi everyone, hadn't stopped around here in a long while. Just sticking my head out for a quick check-up : everyone okay? Anyone hyperventilating? Seriously, whatever the reasons behind this teasing and today's announcement, give the man some credit for deliciously trolling all of us. I, for on...

I am really sorry, but I had to quote this, it made me laugh so hard :-)

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

everyone's got a different idea of what a story is. There's at least 25 pages of telling us some day we'll like it, or condescendingly that 'one day it will click!' or other variations of wishing we'd change our attitude or not try harder, like the disappointed audience is the problem, not TR. Also...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

About all those arguments over the lack of narrative or the lack of comprehension, and the evolution of Lynch's output, this comes to mind.... Alain Resnais kind of worked the other way round, his movies became clearer and clearer... and one of his earliest films would have gotten at least 10 times ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm primarily interested in the story I'm supposed to be told than trying to find a story where there doesn't seem to be one. You can't really call Inland Empire or Lost Highway or Mulholland Drive or even Eraserhead to be stories in the traditional sense, they have a central idea and a basic struc...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

So, in short, I'm not a Lynch fan, I'm not a fan of anything, Lynch's work happens to speak to me, to my cultural background and to my emotional responses to visual arts, the same way I have affinities with other creators, famous or not. This is not a high brow vs low brow contest, and I don't cons...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

well said. I watched Lynch an Artists Life before I watched the last 4 eps. He really is a fairly bad painter and sculptor as well. I am really reassessing his career now feeling I was duped. How does a man that makes such a great film as Blue Velvet (which he wrote alone) get so bad as he ages and...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)

No time to read all of the posts in this topic, but my take is that Audrey's storyline was actually just there to clue us and get us ready for the finale of the season. It's becoming clearer, to me at least, that in the end, Dale Cooper is no more, he has crossed into a new reality, a new dream whic...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

McCartney's name is also shared with Paul Atreides of Dune (directed by Lynch), father of Leto Atreides II, which is the God Emperor of Dune. In other words, Paul McCartney is Shai Hulud. AAANNNNNNNDDDDDDDD Fake Paul went on to form a band called WINGS! And what has got wings, hum? OWLS!!!!! Pauls ...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

Something weird about the tulpa concept... Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind... What is Tulpa almost an anagram of? PAUL! And David Lynch is friends with MacCartney. Coincidence? I think not... "The" Paul MacCartney on Abbey Road's cover is a Tulpa, and Paul actually IS dead! Gre...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

While an interesting idea the only thing I can say that goes against this is that Lynch in the dream is wearing the hearing aids Cole wears. If this were true, that it wasn't Cole in the black and white sequence but Lynch himself, then he wouldn't have the hearing aids in . Unless in the Paris sequ...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

No time to read everything (gosh, I remember the good old days of the twinpeaksgazette messageboard where it would take about 15 minutes daily to catch up on all new posts :D ), but.... I don't think the Experiment/Mother was created during the first nuclear blast or at any time in human history. It...

Re: Part 6 - Don't die (SPOILERS)

What I do think has changed a bit is the increasing modernity moving in - certain North Bend/Snoqualamie? streets used for the town look very banal, like the brief shot outside Mike Nelson's dealership. . Nothing as shocking, if I remember well, as some the Hornes Department exterior shots in Seaso...

Re: Part 6 - Don't die (SPOILERS)

Anyone else notice that the old school yellow phone at Dougie's house is nearly identical to one of the phones in Mulholland Drive? I'm starting to wonder if the entire Dougie story is simply a dream. That would be an interesting concept if there weren't so many scenes in Dougie Universe in which D...
