Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

My own TP 3 "One Year Later" piece on my own website. It's more about appreciation than interpretation and goes into some storytelling and filmmaking analysis that hopefully isn't too dry. http://www.theconstantbleeder.com/2018/09/05/twin-peaks-season-3-is-god-pretty-much-or-thoughts-after...

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

I stepped away from it, for the most part, last fall and winter to let it digest. Ever since last spring though, I've been perpetually re-watching it. I'm always in the middle of re-watching it. When I finish it, I start it back up again. The Blu-ray set hasn't been on the shelf since April. It sits...

Re: Shout Factory Collector's Edition Blu-ray out May 22, 2018

Amazon shipped out the uncorrected disc to many of those who pre-ordered, and met the original street date, and I was one of those people. It's a terrific disc (even with the silent menu). If you have the earlier Blu-ray released by Twilight Time in a limited run that's long sold out, I've read tha...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

I kinda like the idea of another prequel. Set in the 70s. Yep, I'm talkin' the early exploits of Agent Gordon Cole. Season One: The Lois Duffy Case. If Twin Peaks merchandising included spin-off novels (ala the mountain of "X-Files", "CSI" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"...

Re: What's next? What chance do think there is we will see a season 4?

I'm with those who believe that we have seen the end of Twin Peaks. No Season 4. The final episode doesn't feel like a cliffhanger to me. I think the questions that it leaves us with are questions that we're meant to puzzle over afterward for the rest of our lives. I mean, yeesh, it explicitly erase...

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

Still love it, still think about it everyday. I like what yaxomoxay said above about how Season 3 changed him like Season 1 did. I feel exactly the same way. When I was 13 and 14 and watching Twin Peaks during the original airing, I taped every episode (thank you, grandma, for that Zenith TV/VCR com...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline

There's a famous story about the 1946 film adaptation of Raymond Chandler's novel THE BIG SLEEP in which director Howard Hawks and the screenwriters got stuck on a plot point that, best they could tell, was unresolved in the book (I think it was the identity of a someone who shot somebody or somethi...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Bought a new pair of semi-high end Audio Technica headphones and I'm breaking them in by rewatching this on Blu-ray. If you're not able to turn this up loud on a home theater set-up (and maybe even if you are), I HIGHLY recommend the headphones experience. The sound design here really deserves it. I...

Re: Most impenetrable scenes

I think that Mr. C believes that he's communicating with Phillip Jeffries, but he's really communicating with Judy. This happens both in the scene in the motel room after he kills Darya (that mysterious phone call) and in the prison when Mr. C works his ability to manipulate electricity to screw wit...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think that Lynch and Frost felt that Cooper's return to Earth shouldn't be easy. Thus, Dougie. Also, the David Bowie scene in FWWM was a clear jumping-off point. When Cooper does show up in Twin Peaks, it's his Phillip Jefferies, quick appearance, "We live inside a dream" moment. We don'...

Also, Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) was all about Twin Peaks on Twitter while the show was on.
