Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

I'll stop at this post for now. Who are Carries Page's parents? If she was indeed born in Odessa in 60's or so, and Richard and Linda were there that night, it could have been them. And the whole thing then gets weird real fast.

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Could Odessa scene take place in 1967? Seemingly not, but actually yes I am going "actually no" on that one. The scene right after Cooper and Diane cross over and arrive at the hotel could be set in the 60's I think, but once he wakes up to the RIchard and Linda letter we are clearly very...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Could Odessa scene take place in 1967? Seemingly not, but actually yes, and it is another clue what might be going on time-wise. The reason for it not taking place in 1967 is the age of Carrie Page, she was sent to incarnate as the result of 1947 nuclear test, so that would make her 20 in that scene...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Alright, back to what season four could be about. We have been repeatedly told that we could not go back. The only option then is to press forward. Cooper spent roughly 12 parts in the Dougie Land (mythology-wise, this may also tie in to the Egyptian Book of the Dead), and he will now have to attemp...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Outstanding information Mr. Strawberry. For no apparent reason, I went back to thinking about Richard and Linda. Knowing what happened between Dale and Diane, on the idea of anima and animus, or of the myth of Androgyne. Richard and Linda, two birds with one stone: Bird.png Linda left, Richard faile...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

I am not sure myself either honestly. Maybe drugs are one of the ways to reach the lodge (higher states of consciousness in oneself), and a wrong one at that for sure, and this new drug in TP that Red is peddling may have something to do with that. A similar jacket is featured in Blue Velvet (Is it ...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Not sure. Come think of it, the young waitress in Odessa diner looks way more similar to Annie. Apropos Becky, could Leo still somehow be the father? I remember when I saw the Becky car scene that the same color palette was used as when Dougie got sent to the lodge. Becky.jpg Crimson, Amber, and Whi...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Wow, that's really interesting about the Three Graces + The Candy Trio. I originally wanted to try to think of Candy & Co. as being akin to The Three Fates (or Moirai), but there isn't much discernible connection between the two groups other than the fact that they are both trios. I was actuall...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Back to mythology once more: Candie, Mandie, and Sandie are likely representing The Three Graces , where Candie is the eldest, Thalia , goddess of festivity ( Conga line ) and banquets ( "Mitchum: Candie! Another piece of pie for our friend!", sandwiches ). "The three Kharites were de...

Re: Phillip Jeffries imposter / Lost Highway connection?

At the same time, that strange device that Cooper uses to make the call... what the hell is up with that? My first impression back when the show aired, was that it could call across time, across dimensions, or something like that. It has this magitech vibe. Did not Windom Earle have one too? And he...

Re: Phillip Jeffries imposter / Lost Highway connection?

I do not think it is Albert either, as I do not find it likely that L&F would add the "be with Bob again" without giving us some back story or hints. Also, if I recall correctly Albert was in the sheriff's office in part 17 during the fistfight, and nothing peculiar to Albert took plac...

Re: Phillip Jeffries imposter / Lost Highway connection?

Bumping this thread up a bit: the voice in part 2 could likely be coming from Mike/Gerard. Why? Remember FWWM and what happens when Bob gets back to the Waiting Room? Mike and LMFAP unite and ask for their garmonbozia ("Bob, I want my garmonbozia..."). Mr C (or is it Bob in him) senses tha...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Kudos to you Mr. Strawberry (glad to see you are taking calls! ;-)). I saw first three parts as the show was reran here in Europe on cable more than a year after it had ended, and at the time I knew I was to be tempted and I accepted the challenge. I saw first three parts and that was it. I knew wha...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

When I saw parts 3 amd 4 of S3, I went back to reading Eliade's book on Shamanism, as I recalled that Dougie exhibited symptoms common to shamans coming back from their otherwordly journeys, and yes he does talk about that in the book. And in his (Eliade's) book on Yoga, he talks of the symbolism of...
