Re: The slow pace of The Return

And what about Jerry Horne? His interplay with Ben brilliant in the first season. Now reduced to a non-speaking character almost, looking at his foot with despair in the woods. Not funny, just frustrating. Almost as if a random film student was to offer his/her take on where Jerry Horne was 25 year...

Re: FWWM sequels

It would've been really interesting to see what Lynch and Frost would've produced back then, if they had the right support and funding. Going back to the point in time where The Return didn't exist, there was a lot on the table narrative-wise and much that still was never brought up again (both in ...

Re: Twin peaks: Nostalgia Fanedit

Every time I rewatch S2, the slump feels less deep and shorter than before. There's at least something interesting going on all the time, and the Windom Earle -plot starts quite soon. Maybe S3 will become watchable in 25 years, who knows. Of course, one has to note the Windom Earle plotline is for ...

Re: Twin peaks: Nostalgia Fanedit

sounds akin to the no jar jar binks fanedit of star wars episode 1. well, I made the mistake of watching the season 2 mid-season slump over one long weekend with friends. it's their first time through. we had a lot of donuts, but at the end we fell into a valley of despair. the final episode didn't...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

I think Kimmy (like Lynch himself) speaks her mind with no filter, and varies from day to day in terms of what mindset she’s in. In Lynch’s recent biography Room to Dream, she actually does put more of the blame on Lynch himelf: “When David left I felt like he abandoned the show. This isn’t on the ...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

Yes, kudos to Mr. Reindeer and AXX°N N. for a great discussion. The arguments that have come up during it put, I think, all the yammering about how great the show would've been hadn't bad bad "outside forces" taken it away from Lynch during Season 2 to rest. That being said, I love all the...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

You both made my point beautifully. I wouldn't have a problem with how it all turned out during the show's initial run - I think it's all water under the bridge and we should let it go at this point (no matter how I wish the show would've gotten a continuation back then ...). What irks me is that Ly...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

And let's not forget: no-one forced Lynch to walk away from TP the first time around . Kimmy Robertson would do well to get her facts straight instead of perpetuating the same old same old rumor whenever she feels like crapping all over season 2 and the collective efforts of people who worked really...

Re: Season 3 Magazine Coverage and Articles Worldwide

In other words, "season 2 was shit (cause, ya know, it was taken away from Lynch) and season 3 is top shit (cause Lynch got to do whatever he wanted)". Whatta surprise.

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I don’t think it’s realistic to expect him to want to jump right back into that again so soon, nor to expect that L/F would come up with an idea and bang out a script in a matter of months given their insistence on grueling perfectionism last time. Ahem. I hate to be a sourpuss, but one would think...

Re: Original Season 3 Plans

Jean Renault is one of the most underrated characters in the TP lore in my opinion (much more memorable than Jacques). I wish they would've used him more - what a great, savory nemesis for Cooper. Each second he's on screen was immediately ingrained in my memory for all eternity and it's always gre...
