Re: The biggest problem with The Return - the fear/mystery element largely missing?
The original series as well as FWWM had this air of mystery from beginning to end. The flashlights in the woods, the woods in general, the owls, Leland, Laura's decline, Bob of course. Countless moments that were really frightening, perhaps culminating in Leland's "dance of death" in the ...

Re: Did Fans Not Understand Dougie was a Parody storyline
Dougie was comedic and humorous but definietely not a parody. Dougie is the embodiment of the pure, good side of Agent Cooper. He does basically nothing and creates only peace and joy. Mr C is the embodiment of the evil, sadistic but highly intelligent and strategic side of Agent Cooper. He only cre...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
It's possible but I am not keeping my hopes up, instead I am excited for a new Lynch series, primarily. If it's new TP, it'll be the icing on the cake. But new Lynch in general is something I crave a lot.

Looks like I have another mission here. Anything particular of Tati's later films?

Re: 'Psychic Self-Defense' by Dion Fortune (1930)
As an occultist myself, it is a book (and an author) I've read before. The whole black/white lodge thing has origins in the Theosophical society, then made it's way to Dion Fortune and Aleister Crowley who mentioned it to varying degrees in their work. But it obviously doesn't represent the same thi...

Re: Is this board closing?
Hey guys, sorry everyone is upset. If you have a friend who wants to post maybe they could post as you?? No other ideas at this time... Kindly thanks to Dugpas generosity, my friend will be able to join once she received the message I've sent her elsewhere. Luckily we won't have to resort to that o...

Re: Deleted Scenes
It will be interesting to see if anything from TP:TR emerges. The official narrative is that there is very little that was cut. The BTS material gave us a few minor variations/shots that were dropped. Without getting into specifics, do you believe from your sources that more significant material wa...

Re: Is this board closing?
This is really upsetting to hear about, this forum is a massive resource and archive. I really, really, really hate when forums like this are closed. It happened to the Burroughs forum a few months ago for financial reasons, I'm gonna really miss this place. :x And I have a friend that wants to join...

Re: FWWM sequels
Initially, the mysterious introduction of Jefferies (and Chester Desmond's disappearance too, to a lesser extent) really opened the floodgates in a way but the big gap between FWWM and The Return really closed off many possibilities, from my perception. The movie sequels or even further seasons if F...

Re: FWWM sequels
It would've been really interesting to see what Lynch and Frost would've produced back then, if they had the right support and funding. Going back to the point in time where The Return didn't exist, there was a lot on the table narrative-wise and much that still was never brought up again (both in t...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18
For those fascinated by Jack Parsons, CBS has a new streaming-only series produced by Ridley Scott about Parsons’s life, called Strange Angel. I haven’t seen it yet, but it sounds potentially interesting. I haven't seen it myself yet (I'm not able to stream it legally) but from what I've heard abou...

Re: An Interesting Connection: Parts 13 & 18
I wish someone'd make a video syncing those two moments together, it sounds sort of feasible (compared to other instances like the 17&18 sync)

Re: Part Zero - The Sound Of Death; Doors Opening
Woah!! I came across this on reddit and thought it was real (even though visually it felt more like Stan Brakhage - Lynch trying a new style?) That amazing thought did occur "Lynch shot this with Bowie and intentionally waited till now to release it??? Season four!!!" But even that...
