Re: One year later - how are we feeling?
I’ve just finished my forth watch, so it’s pretty obvious how I feel about it. What occurred to me is just how much of the show must be an illusion. The third season is different because what seems like a framework of reality is always melded into surrealistic abstraction. Whereas the original serie...

Re: Billy and Charlie
Having just watched ‘The Art Life’, I noticed a Billy is mentioned in some of Lynch’s paintings...just as a Bob is. Of course, there is a Billy Side in Inland Empire. The particularly interesting thing is that there were both a character named Billy and a character named Red in ‘Wild At heart’ Orig...

Re: Billy and Charlie
This is actually amazing, and I had no idea. What's equally interesting is that I was going to start a thread on these names as well. I don't wish to derail this one, but since mine was going to be called nearly the same thing, I'll post it here. Has anybody attempted to try to link each of the nam...

Re: Billy and Charlie
It only occurred to me recently whilst rewatching the third season, that both Billy and Charlie are slang names for drugs...Speed and Cocaine, respectively. It was when Audrey spoke the line “I prefer Billy” that it clicked. I assume this must be an intentional reference, but I don’t know what leve...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
Just wanted to add to the discussion about the loan shark from Part 6 reappearing in Carrie's house. Janey-E, at the end of the conversation, remarks "you best take a long hard look at yourselves because I never want to see either of you again." Of course we do see him again and, like wit...

Re: 2017 Best of Lists
As TP:TR will likely end up on a number of year-end Best Of lists, much to the chagrin of many here, it might be worth having a single thread to place them in. So far: Vulture -- #1: http://www.vulture.com/2017/12/best-tv-shows-of-2017.html Sight and Sound -- #2: http://www.bfi.org.uk/features/best...

Okay...so who thinks there will be a DVD extra option to watch the last two episodes in sync?

Re: The little girl who lives down the lane (1976 film)
These are all really good observations. When I originally heard the line, it did remind me of Grace Zabriskie's story from Inland Empire. That's before I knew of the film. Yes, Carrie Page's predicament is very similar to the little girl's. I suppose we can deduce that Carrie has retaliated against ...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)
It's kind of interesting to compare Audrey's scenes with Carrie Page's. Carrie asks if she'll need a coat, whereas Audrey constantly hesitates to put hers on. Carrie asks how far it is to Washington whilst Audrey asks how far it is to the Roeadhouse. Audrey is looking for a missing man (Billy). Car...

The little girl who lives down the lane (1976 film)
I was intrigued to watch this film due to the two blatant references to it in Twin Peaks. Audrey mentions the line to Charlie and then 'The Arm' asks Cooper if it is the story of 'The little girl who lives down the lane'. Although there are plenty of allusions to other films/works within Lynch mater...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
I really enjoyed the finale when I first watched it as a beautiful experience, but last night it finally all sort of clicked in to place for me. I've not read the whole thread yet, so I apologize if everything that follows is a regurgitation, but it's the interpretation I think I've settled on. Pen...

Re: Philip Jeffries learned the horrific truth about Twin Peaks before we, the viewers did...
Negative. It's a throwaway line. Thinking that it's a literal nighttime dream is too simplistic, and doesn't flow organically from anything in either the original series or movie, or anything in this series. Calling something a dream is incredibly lazy. While this season had its share of laziness, ...
