Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Just heard a short interview on NPR with David Lynch. After talking a bit about the new book Room To Dream , the interviewer asked him about his meditation practice. Lynch spoke about how with the meditation technique stress, anxieties, tensions, sadness, depression, hate, rage, need for revenge, an...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread (SPOILERS)

Thanks for this, Saturn's child! Fantastic! I'm a huge Talking Heads fan--saw them many, many times, from tiny clubs in the late 70's to huge venues in the mid-80's. What a great melding of song and images!

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

Just watched a video interview with production designer Jack Fisk about Mulholland Dr. At the very end, he's talking about how hands-on Lynch is on the set. He mentions arriving on the set for The Straight Story to find Lynch sweeping the street. He says that at one point in his life Lynch was a &qu...

Re: RIP Harry Dean Stanton

I adore the photo from the 70s accompanying this piece: http://www.npr.org/2017/09/15/547023879/harry-dean-stanton-a-supporting-actor-who-became-a-star-dies-at-91 In the 2012 documentary Partly Fiction, Stanton answered some deep questions from his friend and colleague, director David Lynch. His ans...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Just rewatched the opening scene, and there is so much about it I love. I think it is fabulous to show a woman over 60 who can still come to an enlightening experience and change her life, and enrich those of others. I have a background in psychology, and was taught that once a person hits 50 there ...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

[quote="Novalis"]Very yrev rewarding part this week. Ruby lifted from her seat was both initially visually funny and totally, horrifically, dehumanising. Those two often go together, but the music highlighted the seriousness. Her suppliant crawling and screaming on the dancefloor was extre...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)

So, Ray shoots Mr. C point blank, watches all these shadowy figures performing a weird ritual on his body, must have seen some strange bagged head pulled from the body---then Mr. C shows up at the "Farm" looking no worse for wear--and Ray doesn't find it necessary to warn Ranzo that they'r...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

This is so trippy! I just finished reading Robbins’ Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates today. When I read this passage, I thought I had to find a place on the forum to share it, and found your post. “On January 25, 1938, much of the Northern Hemisphere was dazzled and panicked by what has been ...

Re: Annie Speculation (SPOILERS)

I’ve always assumed Annie died. In the last episode of Season 2, when Coop is in bed at the Great Northern with Harry and Doc nearby and Coop asks “How’s Annie?”, Harry and Doc exchange a concerned look. There’s a pause before they answer. To me, that look Harry and Doc give each other and the pause...
