Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Showtime is reviving Dexter. Gotta think they'd be all over more Twin Peaks.

That ain't reality folks. Partially its Lynch's own doing because he's fussy about how he works, but if you think David Nevin can get get his bosses to approve any idea Lynch comes to him with and give him total creative freedom and the budget he wants you're not paying attention.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I think the reality of the film and television business is, the only kind of project David Lynch is going to be given the budget and freedom he requires to work in the medium is more Twin Peaks. And if David Lynch and Mark Frost want to make more Twin Peaks, I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Re: Tarantino criticism

I was never a big fan, he's obviously a talented filmmaker, but to me his talent is wasted on his sensibilities which don't match mine at all. I have enjoyed parts of his work before, but my favorite movie "of his" is one he only wrote, True Romance(which, I suspect, he would've ruined, h...

Re: Special Effects in Season 3

LateReg's observations about eyes in CGI de-aged characters is on point. Just watched the trailer for "The Irishman", which I'm looking forward to, but it climaxes with a shot of de-aged DeNiro, and indeed the eyes are what gives it away. Supposedly the effect is used extensively in the fi...

Haha no kidding. I'm not really holding out hope for season 4 but I'd take this release as a positive sign if anything.

Re: Tarantino criticism

It's fine to not "get" FWWM, but the comment was disrespectful at a minimum, and I think it would be fitting for this one to come home to roost for Tarantino. (It won't because he's a critics darling) Naturally since I feel he's overrated, I don't think the good rotten tomatoes score reall...

Tarantino criticism

I just got back from "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". After Fire Walk With Me premiered, the then hot shot new kid on the block had this to say about the film and Lynch: "“David Lynch had disappeared so far up his own ass that I have no desire to see another David Lynch movie until I ...

Re: Part 8: reference to 2001?

When the bomb went off in Part 8, both the visuals and the music were, to me, quite obviously inspired by the Star Gate sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey. In fact it could be considered a tribute. For that reason, I had trouble simply sitting back and being one with the scene. Recalling the absol...

Re: Theories & Speculation

The biggest problem with the theory, is that the original posted theory surmised that the episodes were "meant" to be viewed together, implying intent from the artists. Which anyone should have been able to tell you was absurd. It's enough work to write, shoot, and edit together two episod...

I was explicitly clear it was speculation. I'm not sure how much more explicit I can get without using all caps or something.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

All we can do here is speculate. Based on what we know, it is probably a safe guess that any potential season 4 would begin the way season 3 began--- with a lengthy series of conversations between Frost and Lynch. With Season 3 it took a year of conversations between Lynch and Frost before they even...

Re: RIP Peggy Lipton

Sad news. I'm glad we got to see her as Norma one last time and the character ended up one of the few with blissful closure. Actually a few of the older characters who made it into the return got that... Ed obviously but you could even argue Nadine and Jacoby. Maybe some foresight and a tip of the h...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I hate to look too much into Mark Frost unfollowing Lynch on Twitter. Seems like a silly thing on the surface, but in our modern world, it probably means nothing good.
