Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022
So many lovely posts--Brad's was like a mini Reflections--that I can't possibly compete with. It's beautiful to see this place so active before the end. It's giving me the same odd bittersweet feeling as Harry staring at the grove the next morning and the gathering at the sheriff's station after the...

Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022
Oh wow. I'm actually in the middle of a big move and have been feeling the usual overwhelming sensations of change. This place is a part of a routine I've had for a long time, whether it's a daily check-in click or some intensive posting. I'll miss it and I hope you guys can figure out a way to pres...

Re: Lynch supervised IE remaster opening theatrically in NY in April
FYI, more theaters have been added to the screening list. I had been debating on traveling 3 hours to see my favorite Lynch film, now I don't even have to leave my city!

She could've easily avoided all the "unpleasantries" Everything I've seen of digital groupthink instills extreme doubt about that. You can inspire ire from the twitterverse merely for apologizing the wrong way after constant harassment implicating your obligation to apologize in the first...

The Audrey clinging to a curtain at OEJ famous photo but I thought it was a tree and she escaped into the dark woods. Thanks for sharing this, it makes me so nostalgic for some reason. I think we all have these little fan malapropisms that uniquely paint how we see certain scenes. :) It's like hear...

Yeah, it's a constant surprise to me what's 'non-Lynch' even in S3, as illustrated in this post here: http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 63#p133263

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
I'm not sure I agree with either "deconstructivist art project" or "highly commercialized" as adjectives for OG Peaks, or at least, disagree that it seems to be a black and white dichotomy. S3 was itself highly unconventional and in that sense non-commercial, but so was the origi...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
Personally, S3 was refreshing to me exactly because it felt like television going as off the rails as it wanted to in a way that's usually only seen in experimental literature. You can say Gravity's Rainbow needed whatever the opposite of yes men are, someone to tone it down, hold things back, etc.,...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
More a general thought - the amount of absurdist humor in On the Air eclipses any point of Twin Peaks season 2. Like it or not, Lynch and Frost had rubber stamped outrageous shenanigans many a time during this era. It wasn't prevalent in s1 so much, but still, I do wonder what they found humorous a...

I would hope it's still possible for someone to want to retain creative control even when the difference is profit.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Interesting, I always thought the scenes repeat verbatim. I like your take on the indications. :) It could be even simpler, though: it's backwards the first time, hence his "huh?" and only forwards when he messes things up; something never meant to be reversed, and horrifying only after th...

Re: Orbs, and how everything revolves around them
The inhabing orb spirit is also a thing in Frost's "The Six Messiahs"(1995), the book also introduces the concept of extracting such on orb from the occupants body through a chanting ceremony similar to "Part 8", so it is not something on entirely by Silva's passing. Oh wow, in ...

I'm not familar with any prior connection between the two other than the rumor that Spielberg was interested in directing the Twin Peaks Season 2 premiere. Flipped through Room to Dream's index out of curiosity. Apparently Spielberg was a fan of Inland Empire, and Lynch once told him at a party tha...
