Re: Jake Wardle Reddit AMA

I just skimmed it, but he seemed to be saying that Lynch wrote Freddie's monologue (or maybe he just assumed). I think most have assumed that was Frost, even though the glove was Lynch's idea. He also said that he never met Frost, which is really surprising.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I haven't read "Room to Dream" yet and have never heard of this as a potential project of his. Hopefully that means it's only a producing project, if that, because I don't feel it's a good fit.

Re: Hotel Room.. discussion and interpretations

I haven't watched these since the mid-90s after they aired, and likely they're on one of the several VHS tapes that are mouldering away which I have procrastinated trying to copy. Someone should put out at least a DVD with this and "On the Air".

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Could be something he'll be producing, but not directing. Pretty sure he's also producing a movie that'll be directed by Duwayne Dunham at the moment too. I believe a few years ago he said he'd stop producing others' films because some people think those are his films, but he has kept doing it. It'...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

http://www.vulture.com/2018/11/unsung-rock-books-that-inspired-jeff-jacksons-new-novel.html A Vulture article claims that Lynch is trying to get funding for a film about bluesman Robert Johnson, based on a screenplay that has already been published in book form which has attracted much attention ove...

Re: The slow pace of The Return

I agree that Forster wasn't very captivating, less because of his fault than having little to do. In some scenes it looks like he was waiting for his orders to come in. I'm not familiar with all the BTS stuff with Ontkean, as the stories keep changing, but most likely they had to use this character ...

Re: The slow pace of The Return

I usually don't look at any movie/show as being "slow" or "fast-paced". It's all about what feels right for the material at any given moment and in overall pacing. Pacing is very difficult to get right for anybody, but Lynch is one of the best with it. "Inland" would ma...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

I was looking around at a few scenes from several parts, on Showtime On Demand through my cable, and found something different in the Sarah scene in the bar. When she removes her face, the image crops inward suddenly. It's not a camera zoom. It left little headroom and seemed not what I recalled, so...

Re: Shout Factory Collector's Edition Blu-ray out May 22, 2018

IMO, W@H would have been a much stronger work with a lot of the deleted material reinstated. It’s meant to be a sprawling road movie, but so much of the released version is oddly rushed (the opening scenes, the fact that we barely spend any time in New Orleans). The deleted scenes add a lot, and th...

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

I will say that occasionally I'm reminded of lines from the show. When I was doing something at work and clicked on "True" in a drop-down, I was reminded of Dougie's "True". Same with "Answers". Then in Word or Excel I get the message "You can close the window now&...

Re: Sacred Bones Releasing Julee Cruise Three Demos and The Voice of Love on Vinyl

Glad I read this. I bought "Voice of Love" on tape when it was released. Should have upgraded to CD years ago, but never did (haven't listened to it all the way through in years, though). The CD new is pricey, so it's cool that it's being re-released.

I don't want to make another thread, but how is his "Nudes" book? Worth it? I'm not sure I want to plunk down money for it.

Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

I STILL haven't done a complete rewatch, but I have to say that my feelings toward the show have softened slightly. I don't know if the enthusiasm of others is rubbing off on me, or if a year has caused me to forget what I viewed as serious flaws and shortcomings. If I were to rewatch it in full, I'...
