Re: New Stand-alone Parts of Twin Peaks?

At the moment the idea just isn't appealing to me. Certainly nothing on the internet like you suggested; it would have to be on traditional TV. Anything new like you say would be focused on some aspect of plot, but Lynch showed us time and again over three and a half months how little he cares about...

Re: What Did Laura Whisper?

Who knows what she whispered? It's obviously important and maybe not the most pleasant information, but beyond that, it's not necessary to wonder about any actual content too much. I doubt Lynch gave it any thought. It reminds me of the '80s "Twilight Zone" episode "Need to Know"...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

So aside from the option to watch the first four as aired (or individually), all the other parts will be as aired, with credits, correct? I'm glad at that because that's how they were edited. It would be nice if the damn packaging would be just conventional plastic rather than cardboard. I got empty...

Re: Poll: Worst Roadhouse performance

I voted Sharon Van Etten. The song was the least appropriate for the show. As far as the worst physical performance, that would be Del Rio. I was annoyed by her facial expressions throughout. The song was way overwrought, but it may be the one that pertains to this show the most. It talks about the ...

Re: What were the most impactful scenes of TP:TR?

In no particular order, these are some scenes that stood out: the Woodsman's kills and poem, Dougie in the casino, Sarah freaking out at the store and killing at the bar, Mr. C's scene with Darya, the arm wrestling, Dougie and the old woman in the restaurant, the sick girl in the car, Dougie can't p...

Re: FINAL POLL!!!!!!! Your Reaction to The Return as a Complete Work

I read some comments passed to me by a co-worker from comics writer Warren Ellis, who said that the show may have been missing some "connective tissue". That's a pretty succinct way of describing some of the myriad problems with the show. What would it have hurt for Lynch just to have conn...

Re: FINAL POLL!!!!!!! Your Reaction to The Return as a Complete Work

I still haven't re-watched the final two episodes, but over two weeks after, my feelings for the show as a whole, due to those two hours, have become more and more negative. If the show had resolved itself well, I would potentially paint it as a "great" show. Despite so much clumsiness and...

Just got a look at this, and man, that's some uninspired art and lettering.

Re: Calling all who think the original timeline is still intact

It's useless to go too far into it with fan fiction theories because to me, shoehorning in reality manipulation, something that didn't grow organically out of anything in this or the original series, was pure folly. However, the only thing that makes me hope he failed was Laura screaming, followed b...

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?

I'll take the best parts of "Return" (minus the last two) over perhaps episodes 16 through 26 of the original, but no, overall it's inferior.

The fact that he's listed first is likely because of alphabetical order.

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

At the end of the day, what does it matter? People make mistakes and I am sure DoppelCoop was prone to them too. It is perfectly in line with reality to forget what year one person might have met another. Okay, we're talking about reality, not fictional characters -- creators not even bothering to ...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Likely this has been discussed, but just a quick question. Even though what year it is has never been of much importance to Lynch (which is why I don't know why he ended the show with that question), I guess I incorrectly assumed Laura's murder occurred in February 1990. In Part 18 Cooper goes back ...
