Re: unanswered questions / mistakes / etc.

You're right, and I slapped my forehead when watching that episode over the weekend. Still seems a bit strange that the connection was discarded and not explored further, but then again, I guess it's not every day that a department store fragrance counter is used to recruit for a brothel.

Re: unanswered questions / mistakes / etc.

Just started watching for the umpteenth time. I'm sure it's something that many others have wondered, but how did Cooper and co. never realize that Laura and Ronette both worked at the perfume counter? I seem to recall that Laura didn't work there long, but still, it makes the good guys seem implaus...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

As someone who was near front-and-center for each of the USC events, who has made two pilgrimages to Snoqualmie over the years, who has attended TP-inspired art shows, who has attended events like the "Northwest Passage" screening and the Bob Engels Q&A, and who has at least five versi...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

My two pet peeves with no Bob in the carpet: 1) Watching originally without knowing what's coming next, it has to be one of the most WTF? moments in TV history. It also makes Maddy seem unrealistically hysterical. 2) Sorry for being too lazy to check, but I believe when Cooper and Truman (and Albert...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

Not to split a gift horse's hairs (or whatever), but I just hope that someone with more technical know-how than yours truly quickly assembles a "fan edit" of a 4-hour FWWM that incorporates the deleted scenes as they are in the script, as opposed to a stand-alone 90-minute feature.

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray DVD Official Discussion Thread

No USC panel discussions. Bummer -- those could easily fill a DVD on their own!

I'd also like to voice my thanks to Dugpa for all of his efforts over the years. Indeed, a path is formed by laying one stone at a time...and knowing that the destination is finally within reach is indescribably exciting.

Re: Mar. 29 TP "mystery screening" @ LA & NY Paley Centers

More details have been announced: http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/events/twin-peaks-screening-paley-center/ Cliffs Notes is that they'll screen an "all killer, no filler" five-hour fan edit of TP that focuses exclusively on the Laura murder. Curious to see what makes the cut. (For example, A...

Re: Next On Twin Peaks - S1 Ep 2 & 5 Broascast VHS Needed

Dugpa, I have failed you! I went through my pile of old VHS tapes over the weekend, and I was only able to find my Bravo compilations and the last of my ABC tapes (which contained the two-part finale when it aired as a Sunday Night Movie). I could not locate the other recordings. This troubles me fo...

Re: Next On Twin Peaks - S1 Ep 2 & 5 Broascast VHS Needed

I'll dig through my pile of old VHS tapes and see what I can find. Please just don't make fun of my boxy, decidedly-not-flat-screen TV!

Re: Next On Twin Peaks - S1 Ep 2 & 5 Broascast VHS Needed

I still have my old VHS copies of the ABC broadcasts -- to this day, I still don't know what possessed me to record the pilot when it aired originally -- but it's been years since I watched them, as I re-recorded everything off Bravo a few years later (which ended up being better quality than the of...

Re: Deleted Scenes from the TV Series

Some of the photos shown during the retrospective didn't ring a bell, particularly those of Donna and Doc Hayward near what looked to be a greenhouse. Not sure if this was one of the two Donna/Doc H scenes listed in the original post or something else.

Re: Twin Peaks retrospective at USC

Ferrer has canceled (the tease!) but I'm still psyched for the final chapter. I haven't seen FWWM on the big screen since it was originally released, and the Laura/Leland/Audrey trifecta (to say nothing of a certain Dick!) will be a great way to go out. Thanks again, Senor Droolcup, for putting this...

Re: unanswered questions / mistakes / etc.

My two cents: Due to plot secrecy, etc., Ray Wise surely wasn't trying to seem like a possessed murderer in the couch scene, but you can still sense that something is wrong -- more than just a father grieving. I'm OK with the idea of Leland wanting to beat down Jacoby if he got wind of Doc seeing La...

Re: unanswered questions / mistakes / etc.

Beginning to think about FWWM and possible continuity / plot discrepancies. Obviously, there are things that are referred to in the series that aren't included in the movie -- Laura recording tapes for Jacoby; the James/Donna/Laura picnic -- but one thing I wish they would have shown was Leo calling...
