Re: Kyle MacLachlan sounding far less optimistic about more Twin Peaks

Thanks, I’ve added this to my collection of quotes on the subject. While I wouldn't outright ignore Kyle's comment, I wouldn't put too much weight on it. It's not like he's presenting inside information (I'm not convinced that even Frost & Lynch themselves have any idea of what they'll do). Kyl...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I don’t see the value in sharing another poster’s words on another platform without permission, for the apparent purpose of eliciting negative feedback (in some cases personal attacks/presumptions about him), then throwing them back in his face. Gabriel isn’t hurting anyone. He’s made a couple of c...

Re: Billy and Charlie

There are many things altered between the show and the blu ray edition, one of those things is that there is no longer a visual glitch when Todd dies. Hmm, that’s very “George Lucas” of DKL. I know he also removed some boom mikes and corrected other technical errors in the original show for the Blu...

It hasn't. This is another in the long line of "Sonny Jim is blinking backwards!" things that people are imagining.

Re: The visual aesthetic of the new Twin Peaks

Producer Sabrina Sutherland disagrees with you about that. The production office was working down to the wire on all things Blu Ray, DCP's and whatever else was left to do. Sure, but DKL himself said in EW in May that the picture for the show itself was fully locked, and that he wouldn’t have let a...

Re: The visual aesthetic of the new Twin Peaks

They weren't still working on the show after it started airing, and if you watched it through cable on a nice big TV it looked wonderful. Slightly worse than 1080p, obviously.

Roadhouse scenes are some of my favorite in the entire thing. They're essential.

Re: TP:TR. Full 18-hour experience

Anyway...

it appears that the MOMA screenings will be DCPS and not just the blu-rays projected, which is great news for the people going and for potential screenings elsewhere in the future.

Except in this case the duke wanted the latter, got it, and you're sitting in the audience complaining that it wasn't a waltz.

Re: TP:TR. Full 18-hour experience

the MOMA thing is really interesting. I'm guessing they're screening for free to get around any rights issues (which are apparently very complicated when it comes to screening TV series). And I assume they'll just be projecting the blu-rays? I don't know how long it takes to make DCPs but in recent ...

If there's one thing I always think when experiencing a piece of art it's "I wish some schmuck had meddled with this in order to make it more palatable to middlebrow tastes."

That's exactly what it is (except it's cinema which is obviously superior to literature). And thank god for it.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

just finished the extra's. Great insights and just that is a purchase worth it. One thing baffles me as long time DL fan who followed his carreer since BV. DL seemed incredibly stressed making the series and even wonder he enjoyed it at all? Also the way he directed the actors contradicted the stor...
