Well, there's no plot or characters to analyze, so the attention is drawn to editing glitches and awkward jokes.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I've completely lost track of this thread now. So I'll just throw in my two cents randomly. One thing I liked about S3 was Gordon Cole, and Albert. If Cole hadn't been in the original, it would have felt really weird to shoehorn Lynch in front of the camera, but since he was, it would have been just...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Agreed 100%. Very simple fixes that still would have allowed S3 to have its own persona and keep the themes and styles that apparently make it art. It didn't need to be a shit story to be art, that was just the result of bad writing.

Back on topic:

I refuse to believe that anyone who is a fan of original Twin Peaks wasn't disappointed that out of 18 hours we got 15 minutes of Cooper being Cooper. There is no way that didn't let you down.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The conversation has been badly derailed by a single person going on a sexist rant, followed by by TP:TR defenders saying that's what all the criticism is. We're way too far from the lack of plot, paper thin characters, hours of wasted scenes, plot inconsistencies, lack of atmosphere, lack of resolu...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I honestly don't think that us supporters are ignoring the flaws or whitewashing the errors, as some have said. This is a work of art that seems to operate on the level of reality and dream and projection (and tulpa) as well as meta-concoction communicating with the audience and the artist himself ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Doesn't matter, my point is that I find the argument that everyone is as qualified to evaluate the merits of an artwork to be not thought through. So what you're saying is that you are not qualified to evaluate the merits of TP:TR and therefore we should ignore you when you come to this thread prai...

I'm still confused as to what difference does it make. The man in the cell doesn't interact with anyone who refers to Billy, so it doesn't matter.

Also, I seriously doubt that either Lynch or Frost has spared any significant thought on the matter. They use whatever feels and looks good for the scenes they need.

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I suspected just based on the original series that Black Lodge and White Lodge are names Native Americans of the area gave to a phenomenon they observed in only small part. The spirits surely don't care how humans divide and name their world. S3 seems to go into this direction, by showing us several...

someone made a really compelling argument to convince me that I might change my opinion if viewing the series from a different perspective. This is why I still come here. I'm looking for someone to point out things about S3 that I find interesting enough. Character interactions, story, coherence, m...

I am curious about this. I remember feeling gutted and frustrated when I first saw FWWM, and I love it now. I wonder if I'll come around to S3. Can't see it happening now, but time will tell.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

The vast majority of the people that post here loved the season - as you will see reflected in the polls here. The toxic negative environment is mainly created by 3-4 people that post the exact same rant almost daily in the "disappointed" thread and elsewhere. Once we learn to stop commen...
