Re: If you’re ever in Louisville...

Thanks! I’m pretty happy with it. If you asked 11 year old me what I wanted to do for a living I probably would have said I just want to hang out in the red room all the time, and now it’s my job!

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

The fact that it hasn’t been immediately shut down by ANYONE is extremely heartening.

If you’re ever in Louisville...

I opened a Twin Peaks inspired bottle shop called Show & Tell in the back of my bar. Pretty sure many in this forum would really dig it, hopefully I can get Kyle or David in at some point! I want to carry Pursued By Bear. Throwing in a few pics and branding as well as our recent write up in Wine...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I’ve been lurking for a few weeks now, haven’t really posted since the Return was airing, but I did want to throw my 2 cents in the ring... *Noting here that I AM a cockeyed optimist* The initial rumor got me excited, the cast tweets and other odd coincidences put me in a fever pitch, and this forum...

Re: True second viewing

I also feel strongly that having a year to digest it and come back to the material is key to true enjoyment. I enjoyed the original run, several different times, in various contexts, over several years. As with most Lynch- this is art that is meant to be unwrapped over time.

Re: True second viewing

I am watching it 2 episodes at a time, when I can really WATCH. No interruptions, no one else. At this point I'm up to ep 5, I really think it makes a huge difference having gone through it all once, so you can let your expectations go, and really focus on the details, listen to the sounds...

True second viewing

Man- I’m in the midst of my first true second viewing, and It’s very different from watching a second or third time in the context of it coming out. I have to say- it’s fucking intense. All the complaints about vibe and lack of music are WAY off base. I considered them at the time (first viewing) bu...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Re: all the debate on 4k, per an interview with Peter Deming: "The problem is that with the amount of special effects required for the new season of “Twin Peaks,” smaller, less expensive DSLR cameras have a “rolling shudder” and don’t supply a constant frame, which makes it extremely difficult ...

Re: Just a thought...about the entire extent of our enjoyment

I'm not implying there is a 100% fool proof "solution" to the ending, or even the meaning of the series as a whole, but I'm saying that I think there is a lot more detail oriented intentionality than people give Lynch credit for, and that there are a lot of seemingly abstract moments that ...

Just a thought...about the entire extent of our enjoyment

So I just went back to watch part3, and a showtime promo came on. TPTR was prominently featured and something hit me- when we over explain elements of TP and just write off David Lynch as this auteur genius we just don't fully get- dude showed us cooper floating in the box. And specifically showed u...

Re: The "We live inside a dream" theory

This might actually make for a satisfying interpretation in my book. It doesn't negate any one timeline or another as "not real," it doesn't require us to view the series as partly or mostly taking place inside the mind of Cooper, Cole, Jeffries, Monica Bellucci, or anybody else, and it p...

Re: TP:TR Soundtrack released- Listen to the sounds musing

This is a guess but I think it's just one of those semi cheesy sounding "glass pad" patches, (think of the sound that is used during the Harold scenes in season 2) but played and then slowed down. I'm on my iPad and don't have access to my Pro Tools rig right now, but I'd bet if you speed ...

TP:TR Soundtrack released- Listen to the sounds musing

So the score/soundtrack was released today and with no TPTR to watch on sunday nights, clearly I immediately had to binge listen to it. It's remarkable. The choices they've made in terms of which score pieces to include, are really powerful, and do much to really distill down the emotional point and...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

I've just had this moment of clarity, and I haven't had time to catch up with this thread where I left off, but I will say this- I am genuinely worried about Cooper. I want him to be safe. But- anyone that thinks Lynch is having a laugh at us is nuts. Fix your hearts or die. If he didn't give a fuck...
