Re: After Kyle, who was the best actor?

Grace, most definitely. I had all different feelings and emotions going on at once watching her. I wish she was utilized more. But then again, there are a whole bunch of actors I wish were utilized more. Ray Wise being the big one. I agree with the other posters about him.

Re: Criterion edition 10/17/17

I just got the dvd in the mail. Between Two Worlds has a run time of 28.24. There is none of the "in-character" stuff. I liked that they have the new Sheryl Lee interview which runs for about 22 minutes but unfortunately if you've read a lot of Lee's interviews or seen her speak at events,...

TCM and Lynch

TCM aired Eraserhead and The Grandmother back to back last night. Surprised it wasn't brought up.

LP reissues - SAD

MY GOD. They're ALL WARPED! Well, mine are anyway. I have the DW FWWM 180 gram vinyl. It doesn't look warped when it plays, but it sounds warped on certain tracks. I then purchased the reissue of the original FWWM vinyl. I could tell BEFORE I played it that it was warped. REALLY WARPED! But it actua...

Re: Roman Polanski petition and Lynch

I never cared for the Hollywood elite sticking up for pedophiles. It happens often. The "problem" with Polanski, though, is that many think what happened to him is a miscarriage of justice. Before I get my ass kicked, I want to reiterate that what I think Roman Polanski did was disgusting....

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Someone asked why people who were for the most part disappointed with season 3 would like the last 2 episodes. I can only speak for myself. I don't particularly care for the last couple of eps and how they turned out, but I will say that as I began watching them, something stirred inside me. For a s...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm so saddened that some of us feel the need to part with Twin Peaks completely because of our disappointment with TPTR. One good thing about Season 3 for me was that it was such a completely different show that I don't see it as a continuation at all. I can just forget about it. I mean I literally...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

My expectations weren't too high. My initial beef with the show was lack of original cast. That was it. I was pretty open-minded to whatever was coming my way. What I didn't expect in a million years was an incoherent plot and characters that amounted to nothing. Were expectations too high? If Rober...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I looked at a review, and they summed it up with the familiar phrase "You can't go home again." I think that idea has swum throughout this show. Many of the characters are in different places than they were 25 years ago, or are stuck in bad situations. So is Lynch. He isn't letting the vi...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Glad I'm not the only one who felt it a slap in the face to the original cast. So many supporters of TPR were getting a mean-spirited thrill out of the idea that Lynch might somehow be trolling the fans of the old series but if that is indeed true, he also gave the finger to the original cast in the...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Because they feel the need to defend Lynch at every turn. I think Lynch himself would be more open to our criticism than they are. I just saw that a doppelganger to this thread has appeared, seriously: "Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)" . All the best to...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Those EW covers and the PEOPLE mag YT vids, etc... were definitely false advertising. If there gets to be a season 4, I hope EW has another one of those collectors issues with a set of custom TP covers. This time let them put Janey-E, Bushnell, Mitchums, Anthony, Cockney Glove Kid, and Ike the Spike...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Speaking of Sheryl (not Laura) specifically, maybe it's just an expectation I had, but when you know the history of what happened......That she was just supposed to be brought on for a few days to play a corpse, but L&F liked her so much they wanted to keep her so they developed another characte...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

UGH. Yes. [I did have this feeling in the first half that it was the Naomi Watts show. Then Laura Dern took over. And Lynch himself had way too much screen time. Combine that with all the new characters he brought on to steal screen time for, as we know now, NO apparent reason or story. For me, I fe...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

This. I expected a modicum of thought put into the script beyond 'It's all a dream' and something more than subplots and characters that amount to nothing. It also would have helped to have cut the extraneous fluff that has been disguised as commentary by people who find watching silent car drives f...
