Re: Understanding When the Dream Began Can Explain Twin Peaks: The Return

Looks like someone got here first but I'll still post this bit of dialogue anyway: COOPER Do you know where dreams come from, Harry? TRUMAN Not specifically. COOPER (very happy) Acetylcholine neurons fire high voltage impulses into the forebrain. The impulses become pictures, the pictures become you...

I'm pretty certain it was Tim Reber judging from what he says in this interview.

Re: After Kyle, who was the best actor?

What, no Chrysta Bell? Hmmph... All those listed did well to varying degrees, but I've got to go with Grace Zabriskie. While she was definitely unsettling in Inland Empire as the polish neighbour (and I think secretly that the role of Louise Bonner in Mulholland Drive was made for Zabriskie, not to ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

S3 improves considerably on rewatch, especially if a few parts are watched together sequentially. Very rewarding -- would rather watch this than anything else currently available, and there's no hyperbole in that.

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)

I think it's fine to end where it does, but I gotta admit, during latest rewatching of S3 I'm warming to the idea of a S4. Now Tammy has been groomed in the absurd mystery of the strange forces of existence, she can lead an investigation into the disappearance of former agents. She can start with Co...

Re: Predictions - will Season 3 be the last Twin Peaks? (SPOILERS)

Gotta admit, during this latest rewatch I'm warming to the idea of a season 4. Now Tammy has been groomed in the absurd mystery of the strange forces of existence, she can lead an investigation into the disappearance of former agents. She can start with Cooper, if necessary, but I want me some Chet ...

Re: Poll: Worst Roadhouse performance

Maybe it's a bit too obvious / unsophisticated for some, but I find that the lyrics of Mississippi work as a really poignant elegy for Laura Palmer. True, she didn't drown herself, but the open secret in Twin Peaks is that, on some level, she did want to die. As FWWM showed all too clearly, she was ...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)

Let's assume that Frost's retweet is a tacit confirmation, and see where this goes. Let's start with the pessimistic, 'nothing-means-anything, Lynch-is-a-troll' options that I see circulating again, and then gradually consider more optimistic / charitable possibilities. On a pragmatic level (and not...

Oh my god, how awesome. It wasn't a dance, but it reminds me of Sailor crooning the Elvis love song for Lula in a thrash metal club in W@H.

Re: Blair Witch 2 Re-Cut

I gave this a watch (thank you kindly) and I have to say, it feels almost like a different film completely -- much smoother and more polished compared with the original, which I also watched again recently. I don't completely agree with one or two of the choices you've made concerning what to leave ...

I guess so. Stretching music and sound design into one another in places, but I already said that with a track from the archive, so what the hell. I feel like Cardinal Ximenez here.

Re: Favourite Music from the TP Collection to Date

No TP Archive?! Boo. Well, since it's official: eh, why not. I've added it. Nice choices by the way. Sycamore Trees is absolutely in my top 5, as is the Badalamenti's Theme from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me from the FWWM collection. And now I've got to add in Phillip Jefferies [sic] from the Archi...

Favourite Music from the TP Collection to Date

I wanted to make this a poll but there are way too many options to add, so we'll do it this way. You can pick a maximum of five pieces of music from anywhere among these official collections: Twin Peaks Season 1 Soundtrack, Twin Peaks Season 2 Music and More, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Soundtrack...

Re: TP:TR. Full 18-hour experience

There's no way for me to do this in a truly uninterrupted sense, but I certainly admire the stamina of those attempting it. One thing I will say is that even watching 1&2-3-4 one day and 5-6-7-8 on another really, really deepens the experience. It really does feel different to watching with a se...
