Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

All right dear friends, it's been fun for a little while to argue about peaks, turds and hags, but maybe it's time to let Twin Peaks rest in peace and leave the lodge forever. Good day, or good night and farewell. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/38/f2/d8/38f2d8122c910acf3d031b49038794d1--lucky-luke-popart...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

No one is calling Harry Dean or Don Murray a fossil or a geezer (thankfully), so why is it necessary to call Fenn a hag? Can you see the double standard there? What possible value does that kind of discourse contribute? Such cheap barbs, far from acting as true criticism, merely discredit anything ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Honest question: how did you feel about her performance in Wild at Heart? Good, I liked her performance and the movie. Honestly, without silly jokes and names, it's just Inland Empire and The Return (and the characters she played in it) that I don't like. And she tends to wince from time to time......

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The problem is people calling the female performers “hags” and “call girls” and implying that having to even LOOK at Laura Dern is an assault on the viewer’s delicate aesthetic sensibilities. She did it again in The Last Jedi, ruining Star Wars franchise with purple hair this time... bloody disgust...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Aqwell, you've pretty much summed up the nastiness of this whole thread with your sentiments and calling Laura Dern a hag. Thank you, maybe I should have said it in french. Take your pick, we have: - Vielle bique (funny one, it means 'Old goat') - Vieille peau (Old skin) - Vieille mégère (Old mean ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

If people are going to be wholly disrespectful or negative towards Twin Peaks they should be quite able to overcome any viewpoints that come along in response. Even if I really didn't like season 3, I wouldn't make an avatar saying 'the TURD season' as I have too much respect for Lynch, Frost and c...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

They were not supposed to be a defeat of any kind to Gabriel, just a response. When there is such strong reaction to season 3 its bound to be responded to, right? Then why don't you use your own words if I may ask? Using those of others, mean comments from social media on top of that, maybe not the...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

All this positivity is ruining my ruinment (a word?) of the third season. The thread has been invaded by happy shiny people, that's a fact. Resistance is futile. Oops, wrong show... Fortunatly my ruinment is intact. Yesterday I rewatched some scenes, because I'm a bit masochistic. Bad Coop's ones a...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

It saddens me to see that my post was greeted with the very opposite of any sort of discussion, as I am the type of person who always seeks to find a way into a work of art and gain knowledge from other perspectives. I meant no offense. Well, technically if you are not a profoundly disappointed fan...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I agree, it's a bit easy (even cheesy) but not out of place. I'm just a bit tired to read how great season 3 is, that's not what I want to read when I come here (you know, The Profoundly...). But hey, there's light, people are coming, of course happy fans don't ignore the flaws, because... they don'...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I know this is the disappointed thread, and I'm just happy to discuss here as I have throughout, but I honestly don't think that us supporters are ignoring the flaws or whitewashing the errors, as some have said. So you're a bit disappointed too? It depends how you interpret what's going on, and ju...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

That was the whole point! Those who do not learn from their past mistakes (Cooper) are doomed to repeat them. Lynch & Frost plays around with deux ex machina - making Aristotle turn in his grave and purposefully creating (temporary) audience frustration, until episode 18 explains why it had to ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

What I don't understand is any long time Peakster who could not take something of value from the show. You may hate Wally Brando, but certainly you could at the same appreciate the Purple Room scene, a worthy successor to the Black Lodge scenes of 1991, or all of Episode 8, and the eerie humor of t...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

So Judy = frog bug = jumping man, where the Tremond talks of Judy and he had the jumping man in mind that is right there jumping a few feet away? I simply can't see that connection... Me neither and I'm done with all of that. Forget David Lynch, I find Quentin Dupieux more honest and straightforwar...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The new Star Wars movie seems to be as polarizing as TPTR, fans love it, fans hate it, fans arguing with each other... I didn't see the film yet, I was about to but my movie theater was literally overcrowded with kids and their parents (free toys and stuff). Later I read reviews and it seems I dodge...
